It could definitely have hinted at his relationship with Talia. I do agree that they are both quite cultured characters who may be villains, but still show respect.

Now, if Bane had listened to the boy's singing and shed a tear prior to saying that line, I might consider it his 'soft-spot'. But as it stands in the film, he's almost being ironic. "What a lovely voice...but not lovely enough for me to not blow up the field!" Not that this really impacts the line or anything, just thought I'd share my thoughts with you. :)

I decided to not comment on this in the thread, since movie threads have a habit of becoming off-topic anyway... ;)

Personally, I didn't see that as Bane's 'soft-spot'. In the world of Batman, Bane is a freak whose very existence is painful. He voice is garbled and difficult to understand because he has a giant metal thing on his mouth keeping him out of said pain. Bane was merely commenting on how the young boy had a nice voice, because, well, it's obvious that Bane does not. It'd be like a man with a massive scar running across his face looking a young, bright-eyed girl and saying "What a lovely face." Almost cruel in a way.
