According to the instruction booklet of my camera, centre-weighted is the default for most situations. I happened to stumble upon spot metering while playing with the camera. If your focus area happens to be on a dark area, the dark areas will become lighter i.e. more details could be seen so I thought it could help with Shockwave's eye :). In my Cliff Claven moment of the day, the reason it is called scalping is because back in the day, soldiers got paid per kill. The only way to prove your kill was by bringing back the scalp of the dead enemy.

The person with most scalps got the most money. Hence we now have the term scalpers.

Also, another interesting note. Everyone thinks the Native American Indians were the first to scalp. In fact they learned it from the Europeans. The first known scalpers were the french.

Well we are learning about american indians and someone mentioned scalping so i said what you said how native americans werent the first scalpers etc. Anyways i said that, and so a couple of my friends didnt pay atention so the teacher said it would be on our end of the unit test. Isnt it :lol
