In the spirit of the Soundwave / Acid Storm thread, I thought I'd put this up.

*Note that the following section speaks only to my OWN personal experience as a proxy buyer and with proxy buyers, and what others have found fair. How you choose to or choose not to help out another board member get convention toys is entirely at your own discretion.*

The formula I've operated on with previous BotCons is judging size classes as 'pieces'. A scout is one piece, a deluxe is two pieces, a voyager three pieces, Ultra/Leader class is four pieces.
So lets look at this year's loose set:
Cost: $280
Pieces: (by above breakdown) 13 (3 deluxe, 1 voyager, 1 ultra)

So we have a cost per piece of 21.53846153846154, which we'll round up to 21.75 in favor of the 'Thank you' fee to the proxy buyer, and to make dollar figures easier.
Deluxes - 43.50 each
Voyager - 65.25 each
Ultra - 87.00 each

Souvenir packs would follow the same 'piece' breakdown. Example: If a pack has a voyager and a deluxe, it becomes a 2:3 ratio when breaking down the total price.

Outside of paying 'cost' for whatever figures, and cost for shipping (preferably done AFTER the convention, when shipping will not be as gouge-ridden), I have always suggested, and provided, a $50 Thank You fee.

Also, for reference, the difference between the Primus and Protoform packages this year is $210, which should be treated as the 'cost' price of a box set plus the attendee figure.

ETA 2 (EDIT HARDER): Got my Ginrai and Scorp figures set. The rest of the box set is available at cost+shipping. (No convenience fee demanded, per se, but tips appreciated to recoup my own thank-you and shipping costs. The figures will be coming to me after BotCon.) Any souvenir pack figures I don't want (not asking my proxy buyer to break them up if he doesn't want to) will also be sold on similar pricing structures as the box set ones. ("Unit" system.)

ETA 3 (WITH A VENGEANCE): Still need Ginrai and Scorp after all.

ETA 4 (LIVE FREE OR EDIT HARD): I bought myself a box and loose set from Iacon registration after I saw what prices were getting up to on Ginrai and Scorp. Either set is available complete OR I will be piecing out the loose set on the usual cost + shipping + thank you fee structure I outlined. PM me with any offers.

ETA 5 (A GOOD DAY TO EDIT): Loose set is sold, but Cannonball, Devcon, and Ferak, along with the box w/insert are still available. Best offers welcome.

My wife wants a Devcon, so if anybody wants to buy a loose set with me, each paying for the pieces they want I'm game.

 

I'd be willing to buy anyone's loose set if anyone was just planning to buy the boxed set.

I want a whole bagged set

 

I'm not going this year, but what I've done in previous years that has helped people is this:
I've brought my wife, kids, friends, etc that wanted to go but didn't want the toys.
Someone who couldn't attend but wanted the toys paid for a Primus package for one of my attendees.
This cost them as much as getting a Non-attendee set would have, but they also got the bonus figure out of it.
Additionally, it meant that my attendee was entitled to picking up add-on sets so if the person getting the box set wanted those, that was optional.
I always did it entirely at cost, no extra charge. If anyone is going and bringing extra people, this is a great way to get them in for free and do a great favor to a member of the community.

 

I'd also be interested in finding out if any Con-goers are going to help those who can't/don't go in acquiring the convention-only sets.

It has seemed in past year finding someone to help has been difficult due to the lure of easy money on eBay, but hopefully this year will find a few good people to helps others out.

With that in mind, if there is someone out there willing to help me secure this year's 2-packs and 3-pack, I will gladly pay cost plus some extra for the hassle of waiting in line.

 

I was told there be no math   jk i'm interested in the classics prime repaint. Seems like it will be tough to get though.

1. A bagged set

2. A boxed set from someone who is going a la Victorysabre's suggestion above

3. Scorponok

I'm looking to get the boxset, loose pack + attendee figure. So if anyone wants to attend Botcon but doesn't want the toys, hook me up. I'll pay for the Primus package + loose set.

 

The only way I'd buy through a proxy buyer is AT COST. Any higher and it's a no go.
I'm gonna save up for the box set.

Definitely want the souvenir figure w/ all the swords. I'll decide on the others once they're revealed.

I will be attending and my girlfriend will be coming along who has no interest in the toys, so If someone wants to pay for a primus package for the toys, we may be able to work something out.

 

I want to go but I cannot afford the Primus package this year. If someone would be willing to pay for the Primus package, I will pay to ship all of the convention goods they want to that person as well as the pin, comic attendee figure etc. I've done this for board members in the past with no problems. I'm not even interested in the set, I just want to hang with my TF peeps I see this one time of year. PM me if interested.  

 

Anyone want to sell me a baggy scorponok and ginrai? Pm me to work out a deal.
