Looks like it says Bumblebee, Prowl, Barricade and Starscream respectively, but the colours are not even remotely reminiscent of previous versions.

Yep, that's what I'm seeing. Based on these and the Megatron I'm wondering "where" these designs are coming from, or if Hasbro actually let the designers have more free range than in past tie-in products like Bot Shots.

The orange one is Prowl an the red one is Starscream. I can't make out the other two names.

    Bizzarre.

Even Bot Shots has some resemblance to previous versions of the characters. These seem to be all over the place. Orange Prowl?

I'm starting to wonder if these really are from that new more kiddy show they're working on.

It's like they grabbed some robot fighting toys from elsewhere and just started name-slapping.

Who is coming up with these designs, have they ever seen a transformer before?

Wow, these are totally weird... and I'm kind of excited about it. I feel ready for an interesting re-design. A purple Megatron? Sounds great. Curious to see more of these new designs in other forms.

They look like transformers, albeit highly stylized, they just don't look like any of the characters namesakes, say for Bee and Prime. But then...That's hardy a new thing to this franchise, really.

The real perplexing thing is where are these new designs being based from. Is this the new show? Or are they really just random designs for this toy line alone?

That's what I mean by transformers, none of them, save Optimus and of course Bumblebee, look like any of their namesakes, regardless of which line.

As for the new show, when are these supposed to be coming out? I'd imagine we'd start seeing things for the new show trickle in, I don't know, end of the year? The other thing is, even with each new show, most of the characters try to have at least some traits that make them somewhat identifiable. (with the exception of a few).

Maybe we're hitting another "Unicron trilogy" series in where they're just going to name slap everyone all over the place.

Yeah, good chance of that. Well then again, even the Unicron Trilogy was trying to make some references with some characters. Megatron referencing at the very least his G2 self, Galvatron (in a more traditional Megatron kind of white) and Unicron (with at least Galvatron referencing his color scheme.) This almost seems out of the blue compared to that.

Wow, wasn't expecting them to do any more than just Megs and Optimus.

That's what I'm thinking they did. Transformers has been expanding into a billion different side-toylines recently, yet all the while keeping the characters consistent. Kre-O, Bot Shot, Construct-Bot, Legends, and Goldie Minifigure Starscream are all clearly the same bot, yet Battlemaster Starscream looks nothing at all like the others or any other Starscream for that matter.

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS LINE TRYING TO DO? RUIN CHARACTERS?

This is worse than the Unicron Trilogy and IDW combined.
