Have you noticed how they hinted "Decepticons are not gone yet":

I did. I'm not too surprised at this seeing how the rumor of Galvatron and Lockdown were in the script.

So no they can't even call them Heroic Autobots and EVIL Decepticons? Now its Heroic Autobots and VILLIANOUS Decepticons? Are the Decepticons not evil enough for you Hasbro? Are they Quasi-evil? Semi-Evil? The Diet Coke of Evil?

Not really a surprise, though it would make sense for them to market "non-appearance" movie decepticons in the toyline, as they have before now.

You see how fast they die in the movies. A 10 year old with a BB gun can kill a decepticon.

The tail end of a Movie line is sometimes better than the lead in - as the likes of HFTD or NEST showed, so it's not impossible that some of the Movie toys won't completely suck (but I do have hesitations because DOTM was very hit and miss).

But I have to say I am a little weary of Movie toys - not because they exist but because they elbow everything else out of the way when they arrive and quite often every toy on the shelf for the 1st 6 months is several slightly different kinds of Bumblebee and Optimus under a dozen separate subbrands.

They perhaps got it more sensible back in the early days of the movies when they didn't fracture their brands into a dozen little fragments just to sell Bumblebee and Optimus to you. that seemed more satisfying with the likes of FAB's and Cyberslammers and later on Gravity bots getting a fair bite of the cherry at the characters - that didn't seem to happen with DOTM. and that has dampened my enthusiasm a bit more than usual; especially when I see how huge the quality gap was between what Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 toys Hasbro were pushing.

I hope a give a sigh of relief rather than a mutter of mild horror in a few months time. The did have some nice toys last time (Voyager Skyhammer is a lovely toy - even the mechtech couldn't harm my fondness for him) but still I worry there was so many miss-steps last time like they way the handled the Wreckers always muddling the sets so you only got a true set of 3 in the Botshots line just a few months back and nothing close to a similar type set at the time of release with the sublines having missing characters or a fractured muddle of attack mode and non attack mode toys.

Fingers crossed the TF4 line isn't another Iron Man 3 style Hasbro horror story.

    P.s.

How can you call the Decepticons Evil : Whane it was Optimus who impoverished Cybertron by launching the Allspark into space - because he didn't want Megatron to play with his toys ; when it was Bumblebee who slices his home world into two lumps, when it was an Autobot who Murders his own team-mate (Yes I know The doctor did too) and ferments plans against his own faction.

All Megatron did was (sort of) shoot a Bull Elephant in the face and then fall of a building and mutter in an alley to an underwear model and then get executed by the new king of Chicago - Optimus Prime. Stacking up the crimes of the Autobots the term villan when applied to them is almost Ironic (Laserbeak aside the adorable little sociopath) The Decepticons seems almost put upon. despite a huge space fleet they still managed to do very little damage to Chicago when they outnumbered the Autobots more than 50 to 1. It make me feel sorry for them.

I'm also wondering if Movie Optimus Prime's Mirror Universe counterpart would have a big smiley face painted on him and have care bear & My Little Pony related personal decorations and be known as the best bed time story teller in 3 states and beloved of all the under 5 (for the right reasons).

Or maybe villainous just sounds better because "evil" is such a generic bad guy descriptor these days?

Plus not all Decepticons are even truely evil.

I love how people are making a fuss over the description that means the exact same thing.

this fandom, never a dull moment.

Hopefully we might see Optimus's new design. Likely silhouetted.

I just wish the Decepticons in the movies wouldn't be like like idiots. It's a war, the Cons should look like the Boys, not animals that have sharp teeth and raspy voices. I'm really hoping TF Prime has inspired Bay to be more like TF Prime.

I hope for lots of good stuff and not a Cyberverse only line like someone told me.

Isn't mentioned in the press release, but I'm hoping they have something to sy about the future of their Star Trek licensing. Would be nice to know if they at least have something in the works...

That would suck if it were a Cyberverse line only.

That's what I said to the others, but they said it would be better off.

I don't buy Cyberverse at all, too small, too simple. Where did you hear this? If this is true, I won't be buying any figures :/

It's not true, I don't think. Just someone's suggestion on the toy discussion, Movieverse appreciation.
