Today the weibo page for SXS (the people who made R-01 Continuously Variable and the jet pack for MP10 Optimus Prime) have released concept art of R-02, a clear homage to the Autobot Blurr. Unlike the Hasbro Generations Blurr, this toy embraces Blurr's G1 Cybertronian racer mode.

Interesting, this has potential

I like my United! Blurr, but this has the Cybertronian racer mode.

We need to see how their not-Gears turns out quality-wise.

 

Interesting. Appears to be along the lines of the Code series from FansProject. While cool I doubt we'll see this figure released before 2014.

 

When I saw that picture in the weibo page, I told them it looked great, but told them to make sure there is a place to connect the MasterShooter Minute-Bot!

 

very cool, but i like my generations blurr just fine. although i do like blurr so it depends on how this turns out. maybe he could go with the pre-earth part of my collection.

But Blurr had that mode of car on Earth in 2005. It was the latest thing to drive around while wearing your white jumpsuit on the way to go hover boarding!

Not sure if this figure warrants a more geewun go when the Generations/United version is quite serviceable, but more options for fans is a good thing, I suppose. I wonder what's next, a more geewun Kup a la Eagle's attempts? XD

 

 
yeah, keep giving me reasons not to get this. i could pass up "earth hover car from 2005" for my generations blurr in the classics collection. i should just get rid of my pre-earth shelf and make money now, save money later.

 

an earth mode is no substitute for a cool cybertronian mode, though. this'll probably have it's place among 3rd party collectors that like g1 and cybertronian modes. i'm trying to talk myself into not getting it.

 

As I really dont like the Drift Blurr this might be right up my street......that's might be, depending on the usual caveats and what size it's going to be as Variable/Gears is supposed to be MP sized and not deluxe.

And yeah a better Kup would suit me too.

If this gets made, it will replace Drift Blurr in an instant.

What does "MP sized" even mean? Masterpiece toys range from MP01 Convoy sized to Masterpiece Rumble.

Continuously Variable is a head smaller than Masterpiece Swipe, which is how tall a shortish is a Deluxe usually stands right?

 

i like it. i'm interested if the quality on their not-gears is good.
