Wow we posted this at the exact same time. We should probably get these two threads merged

From two different sources. I am just happy Transformers Prime is getting some recognition.

Not quite sure how they won an award for "background design". Outside of the bases which are mildly interesting, all of the environments are boring and lifeless. They absolutely did not deserve that award.

Character animation and storyboarding? Yeah, those are legit wins, and congrats to everyone on the show for those.

Unfortunately, that stuff is rarely in the show. Most of the time it's empty desert and an empty town.

I bet the Hasbro execs are grinning from ear to ear. (and thinking about how to capitalize off this) Hopefully this means The Hub will get an even bigger budget with special focus on Hasbro's flagship franchise, Transformers.

Emmys don't equal ratings, or success. Example: Dan VS. was a critical success and had a pretty good sized fanbase, and even just won an emmy, but was cancelled.

I have to agree. That's always been my main issue with the show - it doesn't have much atmosphere. It's well made however. The same issue drags the new Ninja Turtles down way more since that takes place in a big city where very little ever seems to be going on. Just comes with the territory, I suppose.

    I shrug.

Why would Hasbro execs be happy about this? Now they can say EMMY-AWARD WINNING SERIES on the DVDs, big deal, doesn't sell more toys, kids don't buy EMMY AWARD WINNING figures.

Well, I can't say the show doesn't deserve them. But notice it isn't winning any awards in writing.

Nominated shows for writing this year were

    OUTSTANDING WRITING IN ANIMATION

    Arthur PBS
Kung Fu Panda: Legends ofAwesomeness Nickelodeon
    Martha Speaks PBS
    Penguins ofMadagascar Nickelodeon

Not Korra, not Star Wars, not Green Lantern, not anything everyday nerd would choose.

    But Martha freaking Speaks.

Nerds not watching them doesn't really mean anything. Unless you're saying they have it out for nerds?

I haven't watched any of those shows but looking up Martha Speaks, it sounds creative and educational. Childish and silly =/= bad.
