Awesome trilogy set... buuuuut kinda pointless with more movies coming out.

    Presumably.

But we haven't had any announcement. And even if it does happen, we don't know for sure who will work on them. Or if they will continue the current story or continuity. And leaving all that aside and assuming we do get more TF movies made by Bay, that doesn't make the three movies out now any less of a trilogy.

For me, what makes it pointless is the price. :D

What I find pointless is three disks with the same movie on each one. You should only have to buy one. It is quite literally an evil plan.

Unless I can get the collector edition in Australia, I won't get a single copy of DOTM. Even if I can get the Collector edition, it is still highly unlikely I'd get it.

Having something signed by someone actually makes it less desirable to me rather than more. Having it signed makes it less of a movie to watch and more of a "collectible" to...do whatever it is you're supposed to do with collectibles. Display? Seal in mylar? Not interested.

It's unfortunately a double-edged sword. The plus side is that they're accommodating everyone - 3D users, Blu-Ray users and DVD users - so that no one is left out, but of course the big downside is that 99% of people who buy it are gonna end up with 2-3 discs that they will have absolutely no use for.

You mean the DVD? The Collector's Edition don't include any DVDs.

I was referring to the wide release 4-disc ultimate edition combo-pack thinger.

But speaking of the boxset, any ideas where the other 4 discs that are supposed to be in this thing are stored? I've been staring at screen caps of the set opened up since yesterday and can't really tell where all those other discs would be stashed. I assumed the trays might flip up to reveal each movie's special features disc and that the bonus 3D disc might just be included loose, but I don't think those trays actually move at all.

Its in the bottom of the movie disc. you have to remove the movie disc in order to get the 2nd disc out.

    kinda like this:

I hate that kind of packaging with a passion. HATE it. Not as much as double-sided discs, but right up there. The worst is when you get that style of packaging WITH double-sided discs, like with some of Warner Brothers' stuff.

Even though I won't have enough money for the trilogy set by January 31st or early February (even though it does look very cool), I'm somehow still wondering if I'm gonna get that or just the Blu-Ray 3D Special Edition of DotM.

*(Note to self: You're only gonna get Dark of the Moon on Blu-Ray 3D Special Edition!)

Just ordered the collectors edition. Wonder if they're numbered, like which one out of the 5000 you got.

The optimus prime behind him could be the sideshow optimus prime in a different pose.
