Now this is what I'm talking about! Yeah it's a repaint but that can be forgiven if he has his armour.

EDIT - for those saying ugly....look at the detail loss on Prime.....I'd expect this to be awesome by the time it hits retail. I wasn't bothered about MP Rodimus before...now however...bastards....

 

only a concept at the moment but will be great when it has had some work done on it! this has actually made my day  

 

Looks like they put that photo through a couple of Photoshop filters to blur out the details. Still, the proportions of both figures are still wonky, especially the arms which are way too long for my tastes. I do notice that UM's shins/feets are turned around backwards to snap into his armored boots; that's kinda interesting. His torso area looks pretty strange to me though. I dunno, proportions-wise these just throw me off and makes me think FP CC UM is still the definitive UM, but guess only time will tell.

 

might need another waist piece, but other than that it works for me.

 

If you look closely, you will notice that the whole thing has been really badly airbrushed in photoshop or something, giving it a molten wax look.

I suspect the real picture is of the resin cast prototypes and looks a lot better.

 

Had to read the first post again before I commented as it looks awful but I get it, it's a proof of concept piece, like that HA Ratchet we saw. It's not an actual prototype, still at least they're thinking about it, hopefully they'll actually do it this time.

 

Yep your right, looking more in detail it's as if it's masked. This would mean it's pretty far along in development wouldn't you think? Perhaps TT are stepping up MP releases?

 

So, is this the toy that TCracker was teasing us about? If it is, it's looking good.

 

Wow, if they do push thru with UM, thats gonna be awesome!

 

I eagerly await photos without the filter.

 

One thing to consider tho, would Hasbro release this? Obviously his trailer is integral to his transformation but you can kiss goodbye to the $60/£60 pricetag.

 

Mr. Hasui means it's just a early concept model, so the details are not related to final product. and he wants us fans to help productize a new MP Magnus.

I don't see Hasbro releasing this, unless they sell the trailer separately; which would defeat the purpose of Ultra Magnus.

 

Hasbro will just have to abandon their current MP pricetag, simple as.

Also, it's very awesome that Takara is letting it's designers post stuff like this, needless to say, it'd be nice if Hasbro would do that again. It was a great day when we got to see those classics 2.0 prototypes and the designers notes all posted on Hasbro's own website. We need more of this sort of thing.

 

He's saying that you can form Ultra Magnus just by attaching the G1 Magnus parts on MP10 and that a proper MP Magnus will eventually show up if the fans support it.
