Huh. Sounds a bit like Powerlink. Maybe a revisit for Classics 3.0? Though I hope it'll be more then just that.

Sounds generic enough. Reminds me of energon combiners.

    Ebay:
Lets hope this is well engineered stuff rather than the some of the god awful stuff that came out of Energon. So much was scarified for the combination gimmick that most of the single figure blew, and even then the combined forms still were crappy. After having very few combiners in recent years and that they were overall lackluster offerings, I'm not too excited for another combination gimmick. Since the Movie and Animated we've had Icescream Skids/Mudflap (only alt mode), Devastator (no individual alts, missing a bot), Power Up Prime (afterthought-like), Jetfire/Jetstorm (good, but could have been better) and maybe Mindwipe and the other new plane?

Heck, they might not even be combiners in traditional Gestalt sense. It could be anywhere from minicons to powermasters or even something new entirely. It might just be another spin off series like the Marvel and Starwars transformers. I will wait and see...

lol at this point it could be anything it could even be an entirely new line of toys; called "Power Core combiners" and have nothing to do with transformers lol.

Sounds interesting. I'm going to guess that this has something to do with Universe continuing next year. Especially since they are just now filing for the trademark. It'll be interesting to see what they have planned. Here's hoping it's better than the combining gimmick used in Energon.

what was that stuff about the 'The Plague' character on the random concept art-board being labelled a combiner in the ROTF special features?

DISCLAIMER: What follows is some pretty rampant speculation, and the occasional leap of logic.

assuming that wasn't an early version of the fallen, a protoform, or something to do with the primes that 'combined' to form the matrix's cell, we already know Hasbro would want to know well in advance what toys they can make so this this may just be part of the new movie (see first movie's commentary) expanding on the whole Devastator thing, even if it's just an idea being kicked around at the moment. might also be something to do with those awful bloody bikes :S

in my wildest dreams they'll do a range of voyager-sized combiners made of about three scout-class figures (that aren't arcee, chromia and cykill*) and they will be awesome enough to soften the blow of losing TF:A for me :)

Oh guys, combiners!! Could anything that combines be no good?
Is Hasbro actually listening to us and giving us more combiners??
