That's great. I'm simultaneously not surprised and ecstatic that the general public is seeming to take Transformers much more seriously this time around (though the first trailer of the first movie was a massive hit, too, if I recall correctly).

But what pisses me off is that youtube's so-called "superbowl adblitz" left out TF2 from their list of top commercials (they have "Angels and Dildos" or whatever, but not Transformers?!). The TF2 ad was the only one I wanted to rate!

 

I noticed that too and was like WTF? No GI Joe either. I wonder if Paramount doesnt want them shown on Youtube?

 

OK, noone's said it yet, but it's gotta be observed--the name of the viewership tracking is what again? Sounds a little in-sy, if you know what I mean (I'm just kidding; I know it's a coincidence).

On the numbers, though, I wonder how much of that over 3.5m views is due to us TF fans geeking out and pressing the play button over and over and over again. I'm pretty sure that most people in Master Fwiffo's thread said they rewathed it at least ten times. I know I have (actually, *waaayy* more times than ten).

 

Well this is no surprise to me since the teaser trailer for the first one was the most downloaded trailer ever! Plus its was freaking awesome!!

 

The stats provide "unique views". Regardless of how they define unique views, its surely less than the number of page visits or views the video has received.

 

I see. That's really interesting, then, and great news for the fandom (if this movie succeeds financially, the franchise will have an even more secure place in world culture).

 

Wow I'm really surprised. I can't wait for the second trailer when I see Friday The 13th.

 

And you know this wasn't all fans, because most of the fans downloaded it and view it off their harddrive.

That's cool! I wonder how many people who don't know about Transformers saw the trailer and was like "WHAT THE HELL?!"

 

If someone doesn't know about Transformers they are either living with Bin Laden in a cave somewhere or they're from Idaho.
