Just what I’ve been wanting.

 

The removable tail fin makes me think this is going to be used for a new G1 Dreadwing

 

Yeah I'm starting to wonder if Legacy Dreadwing is going to have some functionality in that regard as well.

Just watched PVP's review.
I'll be completely honest, the way the jet nosecone folds back is quite similar to Darkwind in his combine position for the Dreadwind formation.

Now, I wonder if Legacy Metalhawk is actually the IDW version reimagined as an earth jet, so he can combine with Needlenose? Or maybe it's Devcon reimagined as an Earth jet.

 

I was thinking maybe the Deluxe Devcon had him reimagined with an earth jet mode to make the other half of G1 Dreadwing, since both jets are about the same size with the original G1 toy.

Also, I am pretty sure the TFP fans would be pissed off if one of their favorite characters gets redesigned for a G1 look AND retooled to be a combiner. I just don't want to deal with that for 6 months.

 

Yeah, I'm liking this figure. Underside is more involved than I was expecting, so really cool. Also glad to confirm he's a tall deluxe.

I'm going to be an outsider and say I won't want Darkwing or Dreadwind as anything other than voyagers. So if this does get retooled, I'll just have Needlenose as the only version of this mold/tooling.

 

Just as I predicted, Needlenose is a rather tall Deluxe but, unlike Pointblank, it actually has good articulation like some of the other figures from his same size (probably because of the simplistic transformation but even that is more complex than expected).

Liking the integration of his Targetmasters as I said before. Overall, better than expected toy.

 

I don’t see how they’d do option one, seeing how Dreadwind has a chest cockpit and Devcon has… not that.

I still think the Targetmasters are trash.

Love Needlenose himself though.

 

100% Dreadwing(G1 combiner) pretool. It’s gotta be.

 

This is so much better than Pointblank, it makes me wonder what the hell happened with him. Two targetmasters as opposed to one, and yet he has the full range of articulation we've come to expect from modern Deluxes. And he's massive on top of it!

 

Maaaaaaan...He's hollow as FUCK.

 

Legs are completely hollow. So are forearms. Like empty box, no ribbing hollow.

 

They have reimagined character designs before. For all we know this is a brand new Devcon with no relation to the G1 version.

 

They probably overestimated the budget since Pointblank does feel unfinished at points.

So are Pointblank's which is not something necessarily bad considering the size (Siege Impactor has more visible hollowness in its legs and that's one of the best figures of WFC).

 

They have, but also we've had few deviations from the G1 designs in Legacy, so I'd be surprised.
