Interesting they posted the 1st part of the 2 part pilot on YouTube, probably to get more people interested to catch it on paramount+ and Nickelodeon

Still the first episode of Earthspark is pretty good! It's got lots of heart and potential to be one of the best TF shows since animated from what we're seeing. The fight scenes and animation are so good and slick. Also loving the voice acting, Alan Tudyk as Optimus is a great fit

 

How long are the episodes?

 

This one was about 21 minutes however regular or other episodes could be longer

The episode starts off with Swindle and Hardtop attempting to steal Energon, but it was a trap set up by Optimus and Eita who offer them amnesty. They refuse and a brief fight ensues during which Optimus is attacked by Headmaster like Spiderbots.


Then it cuts to the human family. The boy, Robbie, is upset they moved from the city to a small town so their mom can fulfill her dream of being a park ranger. Robbie leaves on his bike, and his little sister Moe attempts to chase after them. Robbie is more whiny then his sister.


On their bikes they get caught in between a military convoy carrying Hardtop, and the spiderbug things, and after they get blown off the road they get into an arguement and thats when they discover the cave.


The scene where Twitch and Thrash are born is gorgeous. Music swells, and as the kids touch the shard of energon cyberglyphs swirl around the room and you can hear a voice(presumably Primus) muttering. The bots and kids are connected emotionally, so they do not fear each other and leave back to their house.


Back at their farm, the kids tell the bots to stay in the barn and give them actual Transformers comics to read overnight. It then cuts to a scene of the evil scientist guy who is disassembling Hardtop and thinks Twitch and Thrash are Decepticons. The next morning the kids realize the bots need to know more, so they get their dad to tell them the story of the Transformers. This is when we get out G1 animation flashback.


The story starts typically. Autobots and Decepticons, Optimus Vs Megatron, and then they came to Earth. But where it deviates is that he reveals that Optimus, in an attempt to stop more Cybertronians from coming to Earth and continuing their war, destroyed the only spacebridge on the planet, forever stranding them all. We also learn that Robbie’s mom fought alongside the Autobots, and we see the coolest image of Spike and Bumblebee in 40 years.



After that it cuts to the mom who discovers the military convoy wreckage on her way to work. Optimus and Elita show up and ask for her help, and when she denies, Optimus reveals they are working with an organization called GHOST, who arranged for her “dream job” all in an attempt to lure her to the town to help out. The episode ends as Megatron dramatically shows up on the scene.

OT- Keeping this non spoiler. Overall Part 1 was decent but feel abit rushed. The G1 scenes was definitely fanservice. The effects were cool as in using 2d stuff with the 3rd like the dust clouds were 2d with Elita-1 did a leg sweep. Also the sound effect were good too and liked the techno beat at the end there.

Lastly eyeah, the girl big anime eyes will take will take some getting used to! Like they could not make it too detail to make it less stand out!

Yes the rushed part was how the boy wanted to run away back to their own home but immediately change his mind once he got a Transformers bestie!
Found it hilarious how Hardtop was just causally talking while his arm got taken off him! Guess they're keeping it kid friendly as when we saw Mandroid with his arm, I imagine he was tortured and scream as his talk was taken off him!

I get the dad story was an abridge version but dammit I want more in details like-
How was there a space bridge on Earth in the first place? I assume an Autobot or Decepticon must of travel to Earth first and build one?
I assume Optimus destroyed it so that no more Decepticon reinforcement can travel through but at the same time kinda abandon his Autobot allies on their homeplanet?
So Megatron lost the will to carry on the war when the bridge was destroyed? Couldn't he just build another one?
