Hm it doesn't quite work IMHO. The bird mode is passable, but the other two modes ....

 

Doubledealer out of deathsaurus..

 

Might sort of fit into the live action movie aesthetic.

I think the chicken mode and robot mode work, but the missile tank is wholly unconvincing

Theres also direct competition from FansHobby. Totally different aesthetic , but a dedicated mold rather than a retool

 

I had no interest in MMC's Deathsaurus (own Planet X's version), but this gives me a reason to purchase some version of the mold.

 

I've already got a very G1 love letter in the form of Earthrise Doubledealer and the Fans Hobby take sadly leaves me kinda cold.

This though? I I really like what's being done here. It's a mental, totally out of left field reuse of the base tooling and a great looking spin on the character.

One of the rare Double Dealer examples where the bird mode is the most convincing.

 

Was gonna say this looks like an old design but then realized it’s a retool.

 

Always happy to see another release in this line. Definitely hoping for more new molds at some point, especially Nautica, Arcee (either here or in Infinite Finity), Pyro, Ultra Magnus, Tarn 2.0, or (my personal most wanted) Cyclonus 2.0.

If enough people keep asking for Nautica, they'll make her eventually, right?

Was very surprised to realize this was a Deathsaurus retool after getting to bird mode. Totally unpredictable but I honestly dig it.

 

i wasnt a fan of deathsaurus but this works for me
the robot mode feet im still not a fan of but i see myself enjoying the other 2 modes so much it wont matter

 

I probably won't get this unless it wows me in color (the feet/ankles/front of robot legs look really bad to me and have from day 1), but it is a really clever use of the D-Zef mold.

 

Brilliant!! This explains some of the odd design elements kept from the original Deathsaurus design like the wheel housings on the shoulders and the rocket launchers. Whoever came up with this is an insane genius.

 

Bird looks cool, bot mode is… fine. But that tank car thing looks like a load of nothing. It’s doesn’t look like anything other than a folded up robot to me, and I’m usually pretty creative with what I can imagine as a space vehicle.

 

IT LIVES.

Awesome. Only real issue I have is the timing given it's being announced right when FansHobby is increasingly firming up their stellar looking release.
