Damn, talk about fast.

 

Going to repost what I just wrote about this guy in the Movieverse Toy thread:

I'm ultimately very satisfied with how DOTM Bee's looking, even if as usual he'll need a lot of help in the paint department. Most of that can be pretty easily added, but definitely a little disappointed they omitted the Autobot symbol on his forehead; hope a super-small sticker is out there somewhere!

The two, big specific things they were not able to work in are the new collar pieces and the rest of the ribcage, both of which you can see here:


Honestly, the SS49 mold is so dense and compact that I genuinely don't think there is any room to fit an additional rib/ab piece in there. Plus, the chest is on the larger side already so adding more to the undersides of the headlight pieces might have made him look too bloated.

I do wish they could have remolded the plate around his neck/head to replace the original thin collar pieces (which are just sculpted in, not separate pieces) with sculpt more resembling of his new ones, which are pretty prominent on the design and a shame to not have represented.

Overall, he still looks great, the new chest piece we did get looks very accurate, and I can't wait to get him and paint him up!

 

He looks fantastic. My only complaint is that the tires aren't a nice deep jet black color. As they are now they look like a dusty brown like Bee was driving around in the desert but overall he looks like a nice third release from this mold.

 

Looking good, also means we're halfway through all Bayverse movie versions of Camaro Bee. High Octane, AOE modern Camaro, and TLK Camaro Bee. Didn't get the others cause they didn't have his face showing and I like his DOTM look the best of the first 3 films so he's a definite get.

 

Oh yeah as if I wasn't already getting this damn figured these photos have practically assured it. I look forward to head swapping with my other ones.

Looks good, but I'm not sure how many copies of this mold I want in the end. But I'll probably have all 3 in the end lol.

Now that we have a DOTM body, it's time to bring back best Bee...

 

Anyone want to trade me a masked head for the unmasked head? lol

 

he said that the head is the same as the tlk but in fact it isnt, its the same DESIGN, yes, but the sculpt itself is entirely new, for example the "goatee" ection has different proportions and extends to the sides more on the tlk, and im sure if one were to compare them milimeter by milimeter one would fine they are in fact not the same

 

it also looks like there’s extra sculpting under the cheeks in the TLK version.

it was worth skipping most bees for this one. looks great with the gunmetal.

 

true but 70% of the car shells are new. The entire front and back of the car are new mold parts besides the doors and roof I think.

 

sadly i live in south america becasue i would totally buy the dotm version and try to get the masked head for it

 

Shit, I think I'm gonna have to pick this up and cobble together a SS Bumblebee using TF1 Bee and this DotM Bee. I prefer the colors on some of the parts of DotM Bee but ultimately like the core design of TF1 Bee.

 

I may end up with one I don't need. I'm ordering a DotM Bee primarily for the head but also to part swap other pieces to better color match SS TF1 Bee after seeing this comparison. Would you maybe just want the DotM Bee I'll end up with after the part swap?

 

I'll probably just buy one myself, but if you want to part with TF1 Bee's head (assuming they're compatible, which I'd think they would be), I might be interested!
