I like the mold but I don’t need it a third time.

Well, in one hand, this looks quite interesting... Though in the other... Gamestop/EB Games are basically no more where i am at, so i've basically have more physical, non-online way to purchase it. And if there was a way, it's still too risky to do so at the moment.

This is only the second version of the Earthrise mold, though. Looks very similar to the Siege Voyager, but is different.

It’s a retool of the Siege version, and many of the new parts are barely any different.

It’s practically the same even if it isn’t exact.

Pretty much. Earthrise Megs is a reshelled Siege body with a new head and sword.

The siege megatron was the heaviest voyager in siege abnormally so at a big 187 grams of plastic. Kinda crazy how the earthrise version is even more plastic at a little over 200 grams. To put that into perspective leader shockwave is 215ish, both types of voyager seekers are around 130, siege prime was 150 ish. So truth be told, the Voyager price point has a lot of range. the earthrise megatron being the top limit, at least in objective  terms. As a side note I found it interesting how shockwave is the smallest figure to be called a leader but technically does belong in it since the unarmored figure is 130 ish while the armor fits the 80ish gram deluxe average. $20deluxe plus $30voyager=leader.

The funny thing is most of Earthrise Megatron is actually different from Siege. Most of the parts including the arms, chest, hands and legs are unique. But, despite all of that, they come out looking so close that at first glance they barely look any different and you have to wonder why Hasbro even bothered doing so much for so little.

Like I said, "reshell." new parts aside, it's the transformation sequence and overall finished look that makes it almost identical to the casual observer.

Yes in hand it is quite different, and quite the same, lol. There are so many changes if you really compare them side by side.
