SS 86 version looks pretty good. I like the colors on it way more than the hasbro titans return kup. Also no more forced titanmaster gimmick.

 

Kup looks good. Preorders for him and Hot Rod when?

 

I'm not quite as wowed as I was by Hot Rod, but still pretty good. Basically the only thing that disappoints me is I wish there were more transformation involved in the legs -- the upper body is W O W.

The vehicle mode is basically exactly the toy I remember having in the late '80, just a little darker in color and a little stumpier.

 

Jesus Christ, nine ten ads in 14 minutes. I'm not watching that.

 

Unfortunately Studio Series 86 Kup is a big step down from Takara Legends Kup.

The face sculpt on SS 86 Kup is especially no bueno.

Not blown away like I was with Hot Rod.
I like the leg-transformation better than that of the Takara Legends figure, but I don't feel a need to replace it.
Well, I don't feel the need to replace my Takara Legends Hot Rod either, but I might buy SS Hot Rod (or an os ko) as my MP Hot Rod.
We'll see how I feel if Hasbro does a Targetmaster Kup.

Looks good. Will pad out my movie cast nicely without having to pay out for MP level money.

 

For me, the transformation on the Takara Legends Kup mold is a pure work of art. It's transformation at its finest.

I'll probably still get SS 86 Kup eventually but, I can't get over how bad that face sculpt looks. Wow.

 

He's not perfect, but I'm definitely getting one. Face is a little off. Hands are large. Takara Legends Charr is sticking around most likely.

 

What is there to discuss? Like most early review videos it's an early sample that is mistransformed

He looks like Skeletor from the He-Man live action movie

 

Looks okay, although I prefer the slightly brawnier versions of TR. I know that they're not as accurate and Kup generally is a spindly old man, but I prefer how they look. Plus, the slightly slumped down shoulders look off, and the face looks a bit too hopeless. Like he's on his deathbed and regretting all the things he's done in life.

The removable limbs gimmick is cute, but I don't ever see myself using it. Hopefully the connections are tight, otherwise posing him dynamically is going to be a pain. And what is that little green thing? It's been a very long time since I've seen the movie, so it's probably something from it.

 

Kup, Jazz, Hot Rod, and Scourge are all insta-buys. I’ll probably pass on the Dinobots and Gnaw. I’ll have to see how Blurr looks, though I may prioritize Kingdom Warpath if the Deluxe price increase is true.

 

Looks like the arms don't fully tab in properly. Hopefully that's not an issue upon retail release.
