I was at Target and saw this on the gift card rack. It's a gift card featuring Bumblebee's evergreen design. Bumblebee "transforms" if you tilt the card.

 

Genius!

 

It transforms into whatever you buy.

 

Now im mad my sister didnt get me this type of giftcard for my birthday instead of a normal looking one

 

Noice, only 362 days apart. Didn't you just hate it that your birthday wasn't during the school year. Good luck in college, or stuffs.

i would have dreaded to have my birthday on a school day, one day is your special day then the next its back to normal at school also college is scam lol im not gonna pay thousands to look at my computer screen for a video chat lol

 

This reminds me of the issue with continuing to push Bumblebee as a muscle car. There’s no rational reason for it, especially when he’s going to be a Volkswagen-esque thing in the Netflix show and any live action movies are probably going to give him the Beetle mode again.

I wish they'd do more gift cards like that Optimus one that actually transformed into a (very flat) robot.

Target Transformers gift cards - Great for when you\'re on the hunt for that elusive seeker 2-pack.

That was suppose to be "exclusive"; but for some reason my keyboard didn't render the X and C press on screen. Oh well, it still gets the point across when you think about it.

 

I'm guessing it's one part movie influence, one part attempting to make Bumblebee become more of a Hot Shot Expy.

 

13 years after the first Transformers movie & they're still pushing Bumblebee on us.  

 

Would be useful if there were any Transformers out worth buying.

 

I think he just does it for attention.

Whats the common consensus on the evergreen designs? To be brutally honest i kinda hate them, they're really generic compared to most of the other TF designs of these characters and really feel dry and empty since they never appeared in any shows or media beyond packages and wall decals. They're just really safe and marketable and bland.

 

Personally, I like Bumblebee's evergreen design. It's a hybrid between the G1 and the Movie design.
The rest of the designs admittedly do feel bland, however, given that they're just the G1 designs with more detail.

 

I don’t particularly like them. Grimlock’s and Soundwave’s design are actually quite nice, but beyond that they’re quite stale. Especially Bumblebee’s, because we know he won’t look anything like his evergreen design in future media, both the WFC show and the next movie. Cyberverse already got cancelled, why are they still pushing a version of the character that isn’t relevant?

the strangest bit is, I’m not even sure if the design on the card is the same evergreen design, it looks different, especially in car mode.
