Mod edit: Bigger HQ images and some extra pics thanks to Dorkside Toys

 

Alas, Soundwave is unpainted, but I think I'm in the minority that thinks he actually looks quite good!

 

Soundwave’s rash is weird(and on his crotch), but other then that the whole wave looks to be awesome.

 

It seems like the entire Wreckers' strongest point is their vehicle mode, but Topspin looks quite good in robot mode aswell.

It looks like we've given up on paint this wave.

And this is purely my faulty memory at work, but Topspin looks very short for a dude I remember being very tall.

 

Only Cliffjumper looks good. Topskin's skeleton arms completely kill it and Soundwave looks like a custom.

 

Soundwave is kinda weak looking, particularly in alt mode, but I still want it.
Topspin looks a little awkward in these pictures, but still want him as well.

 

I'm not sure what people were expecting out of Soundwave. He probably could have been bigger but considering his "alt" wasn't all that amazing in the first place this is more about giving you the bot mode for display purposes. Reminds me of the Fallen, Ravage, and Skorpy back when those figures first hit shelves.

 

Except all 3 had excellent robot modes and the Fallen had a pretty good jet mode. This Soundwave looks like your run of the mill SS deluxe in terms of articulation, and his reused thighs don't help too.

 

ok wow, i wasnt fully awake when i saw these pictures, it seems like Topspin skipped arm day, Also, less paint on a wrecker, AGAIN, At this point, I'm probably gonna display all 3 of them in car mode.

 

Looking at it more, it's not that Topspin's arms are too skinny. Rather, they're too long.

 

Soundwave has got a killer head sculpt, but that’s it. It’s a missed opportunity that they didn’t at least take some inspiration from the original ROTF deluxe. This is one of those rare times where the original figure beats out the new one. The light blue and silver go together pretty well, though. The figure is aesthetically pleasing.

Topspin looks pretty good. I don’t have a lot of complaints except it needs more paint.

Cliffjumper also looks pretty good. The backpack detracts a lot from the figure; however, it’ll be nice to have a Cybertron-based figure that actually has imagination and thought put into the vehicle and robot modes. If Cliffjumper is any indication, the Studio Series Cybertron-based figures will have actual Cybertronian modes rather than “Earth modes but with greebling”.

 

Those look Cool.

 

Soundwave looks just a smidge better than previous renders, but still really bad. If they wanted us to buy him they should have included Frenzy and/or Ravage with him. Can't tell me that would have blown the budget when he barely has any transformation going on.

I have the ROTF deluxe so maybe if I see him at $10 or less, or skip him altogether.

 

I remember when people got told off for saying Soundwave looked appalling bad when we saw the renders. Glad to see we were right in our assumption, the ROTF original is leagues better than this mess.

Skipjack looks great! I think I’ll get him if he’s available in the UK for less than £30.
