Isn't this old news. I thought another company was doing this, or perhaps it was Magic Square

 

I think that is cute as HECK. Very Nendoroid-Esque. Bet the wife'd let me put it in with her nendos if I bought it...  

 

Yeah, saw it in the forums, was old news. Maybe someone is going forward with it? Maybe magic Square bought the design?

So its an improved version? I wonder if magic square was connected to this before they became magic square

What's the attraction of this style? I really don't get it.

I'm sure this figure is made for someone; I just don't know who.

 

It's appealing by virtue of being a cute rendition of a character. As I said, compare it to the Nendoroids that Good Smile Company makes. Simplified, chibified, cute versions of characters.
Not for everyone, but that's the case in all things.

 

Yes! Ever since that Minipower one went belly up, I've been sad. I even took a crack at designing my own but ended up settling for making a non-transforming nendoroid style figure (still haven't finished - ran into problems getting the parts to print well). I will definitely buy the hell out of this! It's sad that some of the design elements that Minipower had aren't here - I really liked their cockpit and the little steering wheel - but this is still great and the bot mode is even better. If anybody here is at the show, I'd love more pictures!

It's made for me! I love SD chibi and I love Arcee so this is wonderful!

 

Usually not a fan of SD style, but this looks amazing and still has a good bit of interesting detail! Awesome, hope there's more of the movie cast coming!

 

I like that this sd and the weme megatron are integrating the head into the transformation. Arguably most have a harder time due to their complexities and lack of places to store kibble. But by using such large heads, the kibble goes somewhere and plays into the chibi aesthetic. Not interested in an arcee, but curious to see what else they do

Depending on the cost I may actually buy two of these, one for each mode. Fingers crossed for like 30$ per.

I've been comparing what we got to the old Minipower one and it's interesting how much is the same and how much is different. Transformation scheme looks the same: front of the helmet is the back of the car, shoulders are the wheels, etc; but the sculpt work doesn't seem to have any similarities. Like it's a completely new sculpt from scratch even though it's using the same engineering. Alt mode is a little too blocky - Arcee's car mode should have a little more sleekness. Torso is completely different and doesn't appear to feature Arcee's typical "bikini bottom." Her chest seems more proportional to the rest of her body than Minipower's did (though that may be the camera angles). I wonder if this is still a very rough design just to prove the concept and they just whipped up a printed prototype to gauge interest and they're planning on going back and doing the sculpting later.

At any rate, I'm excited. Minipower was announced three and a half years ago and then not a peep since then. Hopefully this one comes out before too long, though, given that it's magic square, we've probably got at least a year to wait.
