The cover of Leader-1 and Cy-Kill looks like that cover of Superman holding Supergirl I think it was called something Crisis.
While the art style isn't my thing, it gave Transformers vs. G.I. Joe a very interesting aesthetic that I can appreciate here as well. Unlike that series, however, the writing here is... Not good. This is the sort of dialogue I'd expect to see in bad fanfiction.
This has been a fun weird series. I need to pick up Transformers vs GI Joe to see the weirdness I've heard about in that one.
For the life of me, I will never know. It honestly looks like something that a mildly talented 14 year old "artist" with no ability to portray storytelling made.
"Known for his work on TF vs GIJoe." No, IDW, he's really not. He's known first and foremost from his work on Godland, which is where he rose to fame. Not that his work at IDW is bad, it just bugs me when a publisher omits a creator's work because it was at another company. Marvel and DC does this all the time. Neil Gaiman writes a version of the Eternals for them, and on the back cover of another Marvel book that's what's mentioned. Y'know, not Sandman or Books of Magic, the work that gave him literal acclaim.
Y'know, I've enjoyed this more than the TF/GI Joe mess. I think the simplicity has helped it. I'm not even a Gobots fan.
