Damn, I’m loving this version of Cybertron. I’m glad we’re taking a break from the hellhole version of previous continuities and embracing this cool, science fantasy utopia thing.

Looks good, but will admit I read "with Tarn to followers" and probably will for the next few years of Tarn being mentioned despite being familiar with the city first.

These four pages are finally getting through what is going to appeal to me. Hoping someone who knows sees this without starting a thread, do we know what issue that Coller cover belongs to? The one we were shown when this series was announced with a bunch of characters on it like a movie poster. I thought it was the first issue but solicits say the 1:10 is Durocher and looking at TFAW it isn't the A or B. Could keep listing what I know it isn't but hoping someone who was on board earlier already knows.

Ascenticon, huh? Is it the name of the faction before Decepticon?

The last page looks good, the first three not so much. I really am not so interested in another prequel *sigh*

They don't look bad but just... bland. Little to no interesting lighting and SUPER accuracy to the toys.
I think it's a convention name. Still sounds like a potential sub-group name.

So the art is pretty cool. What's the timeline supposed to be?
    Is this a new continuity?

So far new IDW seems to contain everything that was wrong with the last few years of old IDW.

I’m trying to find somewhere online to buy this when it’s available. Any suggestions. I don’t know the title of the series to find if it’s on amazon.

I really like the utopian concept. And so far it's managed to still keep a "Transformers"flavor from what we see here. I'm on board.

This is before the war and yes, new continuity

I was kinda hoping they’d use the Voyager version for Orion and his new leader body for when he becomes prime.

Dialogue seems fine. The scenario, however, is still not doing it for me. At best, so far it looks like a re-run of a tired 'political upheaval' narrative. At worst, this is going to end up as some inadvertent reactionary thing where it's implied that protest and populism leads straight to war and dictatorships.

Imagine if a writer had the balls to do Prime and the Autobots as the revolutionaries next time, and Megatron as the calm, stable, democratically elected ruler who ends up as a despot by taking on more and more powers to protect the status quo.

Okay, I have a theory. Ascenticons and Autobots don't refer to groups like clubs and such. They are titles for generations. Like Baby Boomer and Gen X. Thus why Megatron says that the Ascenticons don't have as much experience as Autobots. And Optimus counters that they were forged almost at the same time.

This would also explain why certain characters start on different sides than what we are used to: this is a war of Generations, not classes

How many times must we retell these stories for the same diminished base of potential readers? Cyberverse literally just finished telling these stories about the early days of the war a few months ago. And they even did the inevitable pre-war sit down and chat scene between these two.

    Sunbow did that. Sort of.

The Autobots favored autonomy. The Decepticons were the military industrial complex and gladiators of the ruling class. The Autobots led a slave revolt against the Quintessons. All you need is a more mature, consistent, and thought-out Sunbow.
