Seriously though, I want this movie to do well and make money as it is a good sign of going in the right direction and I want a Cybertron focused movie with no humans, and for it to be awesome.

At this point I'm convinced you're really just one huge parody of every cranky G1 fan ever.

 

How so?
Japan is notorious for getting movies late. There's no real rhyme or reason for why, but some movies come out 6 months to a year later. One reason is possibly because Japan has it's own fairly strong movie industry, but so does China and India.
Another popular theory is that Japanese distributors like to sit on movies that they are unsure about, in order to wait for International reactions to put on posters "The Number 1 movie in the US!", "The whole world laughed" etc... and so they can bring over the stars of the movie for public appearances and the premiere.

Like I said elsewhere, while living there, I ended up streaming some movies (Deadpool, Moana and a few othes) via VPN because they were out on American streaming services and DVD before the Japanese cinema release

 

Essentially everyone who isn’t in these countries and cares about this news is “Please give our new franchise money”. I’m no different lol.

 

I thought they delayed the chinese premiere to february because of Aquaman.
