Interesting enough, this Optimus design seems to be based more on a WFC:S Ultra Magnus inner robot... But with an all-new chest.
Megatron is based on the WFC:S Voyager, though.

Small hint at the Leader Optimus for this line?

 

Interesting too that Megatron has no faction symbol (yet).

Should be interesting to see how this leads into the war.

Curious if Windblade is slated for a toy now, that said.

 

You may not be that far off. I mean he does evoke a lot of Magnus's core robot in the cover after all.

It's strongly likely that Windblade will get a new figure sometime in the WFC trilogy but it won't be for a while.

 

That Art is pretty nice here, hopefully they got a good team working on this.

Will definitely look into the people they have slated for this story.

 

Thank God Bumblebee will be one of the main characters! I was scared if we didn't see
Him everywhere and in everything, he would be forgotten. I just love seeing his toys in every series of tfs toys clogging up all the pegs.

I just hope this new series will be better than almost anything from IDW in the last 2 years....

 

Set on Cybertron with no humans? Count me in on being cautiously optimistic!

 

Hmmmmm, I can get down with it being set pre-war, I'll give it a shot.

 

I'm guessing that Prime might be a hint of his WFC leader class figure. It's got a lot of Ultra Magnus in it.

 

Going to get these, Hope the comics are at least half as cool as the Siege Transformers are.

 

The cover art looks like it was done by Casey Coller on the second pic, so I’m glad it looks like some artists will be returning for the comic reboot.

 

I'm starting to miss the autobot Megatron! 

 

I like that the toy designs are going to be how the characters look in the book for the most part. I hope it stays this way. 

 

Hmm, looking at Megatron, it seems this comic may be connected to the current War for Cybertron line (Siege atleast). Optimus may be based on the upcoming leader?

So looking at this guy's history, he seems to have a pretty decent track record overall, this doesn't mean we're guaranteed a great story but it's a much better choice than I thought we'd get.

Bumblebee actually belongs here, he's an actual character who deserves a spot.

I like the direction. One thing I felt lacking from IDW\'s 1st run was pre-war Cybertron. Outside of a few one shots and mini series we didn\'t get to see much of it. Which I understand as the focus was more on modern day post war but seemed like whenever they went back it was a real treat. It\'s the reason I found most of MTMTE\'s Elegant Chaos and entirity of Optimus Prime so enjoyable really.

 

OH GOD THE RUMORS OF THE LEADER CLASS OPTIMUS BEING A GALAXY FORCE HOMAGE ARE TRUE!


Seriously! We know the final leader in Siege is Optimus Prime, @Jtprime17 can back me up on this. Considering how literally everyone else in those images is taken directly from their new toys, this can’t be a mistake.

Optimus even has the clips visible on the inner Magnus robot!

 

Here's my biggest question. We can't just call this IDW or the IDW continuity anymore, for obvious reasons. So what will we call it?
