Cool as long as they don\'t screw up. Sounds like Hasbro wields more power here, though, which is good. If anyone knows the brand, it\'s them (hopefully lol).

Yes, that's why I specifically mentioned:
"While we have heard of the agreement before, this is the first time we are seeing it on a legal documentation."

Hell yeah. I’m excited for the future. Especilay if this is a full blown reboot. Just keep Travis around and/or get more creative and invested people in on this.

And I'll continue to spend time and money elsewhere!

How clueless can Hasbro be? BumbleBay's opening weekend isn't even tracking over $35M.

It could be a thing where they are hoping that once it comes out, people hear that it is good and go see it. Or even it does big $$ on home video. I'm sure the studio realizes many people still feel burned by Last Knight so they are hesitant about another Transformers film.

They do wield more power now since they are funding more of the movies after a partner company in China backed out of a deal with Paramount. I think it's a step in the right direction since I like the changes made with the Bumblebee movie.

How clueless are you? Bay isn't directing bumblebee, Travis Knight is and I think it has a $35 million expectations cause it's a low budget movie. $70 million compared to a little over $200 million.

Cool. I think the problem was keeping Bay as director. we shall see.

Well I don\'t think paramount interferes with their movies. But I hope they make an expansive universe full of characters. Maybe we\'ll see more solo films? Imagine a Shockwave vs. The Dinobots movie. That would be completely badass.

Which is a great number. Let us put things into perspective.

    • Aquaman production budget: approx. $160 million
    • Bumblebee production budget: approx. $70 million.

Therefore when Bumblebee makes $25 million at the boxoffice, Aquaman needs to make about $60 million to equal that as a percentage.

Aquaman is projected to make around $40 million in the opening weekend and Bumblebee is projected to make around $25 million. So, can you see which movie has made the better profit? :)

I'm wise enough to call it BumbleBAY because it's still a Bayformer spinoff. Learn how to read a comment before taking offense to it. If you're that hyped for this crap then be sure mommy stuffs a ticket in you stocking next month. You think Paramount would've gave this movie such a low budget if the last one didn't flop let alone shoe horn it in with these other films at the end of the year? My points still stand...

Aquaman isn't Paramount's only problem in theaters. But it's still a problem along with Animated Spider-man, Deadpool PG13, Mary Poppin's, Mortal Engines (I might even give that a change). And that's just the adventure and action films in December.

But to speak directly on that $70M budget that doesn't include advertising cost which could almost be the same amount. Sure it might make it out of the red by about $10M or $20M next year. But it wont be the savior that that over rated "A Quiet Place" was.

I'm inclined not to engage with you but I will take advantage of the digital barrier and do so anyway.

You refer to the film as "crap". How do you know it's crap? Have you seen the film? How well will your comments age if the film receives the best reviews a Transformers film has ever received?

I will also point something out: big budgets almost killed M. Night Shyamalan's career, too. After how bad After Earth did (at an estimated budget of $150 million), he went right back down to the bottom of the ladder with The Visit ($5 million) and Split ($9 million), performing okay with the former and absolutely killing the game with the latter. Don't count it out just yet, as you may be surprised, but I certainly can't stop you if you're already set in your ways.

Paramount needs a hit franchise. Transformers is their best bet at an immediate franchise because Hasbro is putting their money into them while Paramount and CBS restructure and rebuild.

The majority of the board at parent company CBS is being replaced right now and until they lock down a direction for the company, they're just spinning their wheels in every direction. If they go where they should, the new CBS board will merge Paramount back into the larger CBS company again. That should give them the stability to get investors interested in other franchises again. You probably won't see a Star Trek movie again until that happens.
