The hits just keep on coming. And, I could talk a lot about how this episode was especially fully diegetic, or start speculating about the road ahead, but...

Instead, I’ll note that I pushed this episode from YouTube on my tablet and to my TV through the cable box, and it looked fantastic! The DVR is pretty crummy and usually looks like it’s in Standard Definition, while I was getting at least a lag-free 720p and maybe even 1080p from the connection. I also could’ve tried using my Switch to play the episode on my TV—or just the Switch itself, but that’ll be a thought for next weekend, though... I have a slightly worry that that might not look as great. ><

And, even if Slipstream is pretty much Wily E. Coyote, I still love that she’s back, and that everything sounds good and is synched well, so far. Admittedly, I would appreciate ‘Bee getting his voice back, too, but maybe that’s something Wheeljack could figure out as ‘Bee & Blade get the band back together.

Finally, it looked to me like R&R transform into a dual seated dune buggy or go kart or maybe two Lotus Sevens set beside each other like a weekend car built for two.

My first thought is that Shockers is a secret tweaker and cackling mad scientist, or maybe more spaced out like the patients and staff of the Aboria Institute in Beyond the Black Rainbow, but... uh...

To keep it in-universe, maybe Big Purple Photon Blaster smokes/vapes the Dankest Cygars the sector has ever seen?

Or, yeah, Shockers swills some engex when he gets Wily E Coyoted.

First I do wanna say I am enjoying this show. Some silly stuff sure but also some really dark stuff. I find myself greatly enjoying the cybertron parts much more.

I like slipstream and shadow striker....very cool to see a drift closer to his IDW self complete with the deadlock name drop last episode. Rack and Ruin.....that was shocking to see something that obscure. But very cool none the less.

That being said I'm annoyed they lost the ship....that means more radio voice bee and I feel this radio voice is the most annoying. He needs his voice back already this trend needs to die. Grimlock's voice is still off to me....but I feel they're overplaying their hand. By having him speaking SO proper I can see 'brain damage' or something coming a mile away. He's gonna be all "me grimlock king!" when they find him....no doubt.

I wonder how long this show is slated to last. I like it.

Loved this episode. Also found it interesting in how there's a detail that's plain as day but so subtle.

Shockwave doesn't know what happened on the Ark. Only that they found earth. He doesn't even know what crew was on the ark. So all cameos here are his guesses, and was especially interesting how he kept pushing wheeljack as mean, and put emphasis there with a lot of the story with what we saw in MacCadam's too.

Really love the attention to intrinsic story detail they've been doing in that way. Like how
Shockwave knows nothing of the energon rich asteriod they were on.

It's minor, but this attention to detail really bodes well for the future of the show in how it'll do callbacks and references to stories it's built over the course of its run.

At least 3 or more seasons. Potentially upwards of 5. You typically don't use a "Volume" setup unless you plan on making it go to 4 or more. So currently it looks like it's on a 4+ pattern aiming for 5, and maybe more after if it keeps playing well. With seasons 1 and 2 mostly as setup for bigger stories later. But even as setup, they are laying ground work and doing their own big stories too. Bee will get his voice back eventually. Probably near the beginning of next season, but likely not later than Volume 3.

    As for Drift/Deadlock.
That's intentional. This is his younger days. But we will see elements of his RID self used later too. Drift's IDW origin and RID origin are going to be mixed more. His metaphors are very rich with material to do both stories as part of his growth. From wayward lost youth himself trying to find his way and falling into a bad crowd because of propaganda and pulling himself out of it, to eventually someone that helps guide and save others from the same. From student to master, as the metaphor often goes, as well as how that metaphor parallels to life itself in similar. That's something that's in the design differences too between his versions. Drawing heavily on Animated Prowl as well for his RID version. He goes from masterless samurai following his own path to master of his own destiny and guiding others on an honorable path. Which is why the RID version accelerated his age up higher closer to Ratchet's age.

You mean his most vulnerable area isn't down there?

But then I remember they don't have functioning...parts, unless we get into the realm of bad fanfic

Was interested to see Shockwave, but was disappointed to see he takes after his bland TFP counterpart so much.

A lot of the people who work at Boulder grew up on the Marvel UK books, so it's not that unreasonable that they'd include things like Rack n Ruin.

Meh, wasn't as good as the last couple episodes, but was far from being bad. Just didn't particularly appeal to me. Definite highlight was Rack'n'Ruin, and evil/fake Optimus trailing his axe against the wall was surprisingly effective. Plus, it's nice having the current day plot actually move along again. The last couple eps it hasn't particularly felt like much was going on in the current time, so yeah, interested to see where it goes next, in terms of present day stuff, and if the flashbacks are still a thing going forward.

    Does anyone else feel like

The scene with Optimus dragging his axe along the wall with the corridor illuminated in red was a Nightmare on Elm Street reference?

Y’know this show isn’t half bad but it’s really brought down by the weak voice acting and bland dialogue

I am a U.S. Citizen and can not watch these because I am stationed on a base in Afghanistan. Why do they care who watches the videos?

Probably was. Nightmare was kind of the theme of the episode in general.

That's global distro rights things. It's not their choice. It's the way the business is for global distro rights.

This is true for all media. Not a Hasbro in particular thing, more an effect of media business and how the rights are sold to abroad areas to air it and how those who buy the rights have control of said market for it. Hasbro could be sued for breach of contract if they overstepped any wider world distro agreements.
