Should be fun lining and displaying these boxes together, those artworks at the side of the box look great!

Wish they were packaged in vehicle modes. I miss the "Robots in Disguise" aspect of collecting Transformers.

Maybe thats another reason I like the new G1 reissues so much.

All these Siege Box/card images excite me with every new one is shown. First Prime/Megatron, then Battlemaster, now Sideswipe. I can't wait when they show my boy Siege UM box/art work. Wonder if the art would show both the white Magnus and the armor side by side e.g. CW UM (UM/Ambus side by side).

All these package reveals makes me hope this line shows up sooner, like in the next month, instead of later. They would fly off the shelves

I can't wait for Fly Wheels, I remeber when Hasbro talked about going eco-friendly and using less plastics on packaging.

Curious, anyone else thinking of replacing their Classics Lambo Bros with the Siege versions (assuming there will be a Sunstreaker and he'll be just as good)? I really feel like the bot modes are better designed but I still like the CHUG "technically not a Lamborghini Gallardo" alt modes more.

Why am I getting AOE vibes from this? Like, the voyager boxes are great, but wouldn't a blister be cheaper to make? I hope this isn't the reason for the price hike.

Are they only adding weathering on bot parts and leaving vehicle parts untouched? That hood looks out of place without any weathering

Because Hasbro isn't actually interested in keeping prices low. Larger boxes mean fewer figures per case, which means higher shipping costs, and as you point out, these boxes would certainly cost more, both in terms of materials and labour. However, these things must not add as much to the per-figure cost as Hasbro lets on. Hasbro wouldn't run the risk of alienating price-sensitive markets unless they stood to benefit from ratcheting up prices.

Really, these figures are getting fancier boxes to inflate the perceived value of these items on the shelf in order to justify the sharply increased pricing. Note how much empty space is hidden at the bottom of each package as well, to make the figures appear larger in-box.

But hey... at least we have that super-classy smudged silver paint deco. :redface2:

Your AOE/TLK vibes aren't unwarranted, but I'd wager that this isn't the sole reason, but part of it. I theorized back when the packaging for the Voyagers was shown that Hasbro may want their Boys' Toys (Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars) to all appear to be on the same level to the consumer in terms of presentation and craftsmanship; what y'all (the royal "y'all") call pointless battle damage, Hasbro calls a way to implement its screen-printing technology on figures that don't have real-world, human likenesses, and what you call a more expensive means of packaging, Hasbro deems a sort of "prestige" method to present to parents, kids, and, yes, even us collectors, that these aren't the same Transformers as the Cyberverse figures. As a Marvel Legends and Black Series collector, I both understand and welcome the change.

I dont replace figures, I just find new spots for the old ones. But I can tell you this about Sideswipe...while I like his new robot mode, im not feeling the alt mode at all. Not because it doesnt look good, but because it is too heavily based on late 80's and early 90's Ferraris. My Sideswipe needs to look like a Lamborghini.
