Just found this article from Discussing Film on Twitter! In the article it lists that during the time on Cybetron in the movie, we see multiple cameos from classic characters in the film, including Cliffjumper, Shockwave, and Soundwave. Each character is easily recognizable, and will have very G1 like designs. It also says that Optimus Prime has a role larger than just a cameo. This news is really exciting for me and, gets me pumped for the Cybertron scene! Thoughts?

My hype for bumblebee movie just getting higher and higher!1!1!

 

Hopefully this excites those who were disappointed by the Blitzwing reveal and brings them back in. I have faith that this will not only be a good movie for fans of Transformers, but it will be a great movie in general. Especially with people like Travis Knight and Hailee Steinfeld on board.

 

I assume the Cybertron scene is one of the later add-ons since people who claim to have seen the rough screening said there was none of that.

 

Is this a credible source? I would love for this to be the case, but it seems a bit early to reveal this. Seems like one of those easter eggs they'd save for the movie itself. It also sort of makes me suspicious that we haven't seen toys of any of these. You'd think G1-looking Shockwave and Soundwave would be just as marketable as Barricade and Hot Rod, who seemingly aren't in the movie.

Also, the article is incorrect about the protoform thing. The protoforms were just stripped down modes for space travel. On Cybertron they had proper vehicle modes and armored bodies. Since he uses a spaceship, Sentinel Prime never uses a protoform mode.

 

If they can accomplish so much with just 100 million dollars, why has Michael Bay disappointed me 5 times when he had 250 million?

This movie sounds like a treat. I hope we get Studio Series toys for them. Then I can say I love the toy-line... Because I can't say I like the Bay designs...

 

They're credible. I've been following them for a while and they get exclusives quite often.

They did show Optimus during SDCC, which I thought they'd save for the movie, so you never know.

 

They may have been lying about seeing the movie as well

 

They're definitely being smarter with the budget for this film. Michael used a lot on detailed effect and explosions, plus they've shot all around the world. Bumblebee has less robots, and more simple designs which cost less money. There's lots of reasons but those are the first that come to mind

If they wanna make this canon to the bay films then they need to just scrap all the sequels and start over from the first Film.

 

I already know Optimus has a larger role in the movie.

I can't lie. This is something I don't particularly like. It makes no sense for them to look the same way on Cybertron and on Earth. One of the things I liked about the first movie is that Michael Bay tried to make it as realistic as possible but oh well I guess this could be another reason why they could establish it as a reboot.
