Hasbro’s Leaked From Cybertron: Power Of The Primes Predaking - Transformers News - TFW2005

 

This "Leaked from Cybertron" series makes me irrationally angry.... every time I see one of these headlines, I get a momentary burst of exhilaration as I mistakenly think a new actual leak of future unrevealed products has occurred, only to plunge into depression when I realize it's just shit we've already seen before.

 

What happened to all the spikes? He needs more spikes.

That working prototype looked really cool, btw.

Weird how you can see on the mockup that he was supposed to have spiked knuckles. I gotta wonder if it was removed for child safety... but then how do the Dinobots and Terrorcons have them?
Also, huh, is it just me or on the grey prototype photo, Headstrong and Tantrum are much larger than the others?

 

the mock up looked 100x better than the final outcome.

 

Cute... but way too short to be really informative.

Could you imagine if it actually looked like this, holy fuck it would have been awesome.

 

It's frustrating how they had the proportions down, and then they make this lanky, boxy mess instead.

Leak? I thought this has already been revealed, released and owned by many!!

 

I thought the same thing, not that Predaking was especially bad or anything, just not as cool as this drawing. The mock up model was pretty dope as well. Also, John Warden reminds me of a lot of grocery store managers I've encountered. That's not a dig, just a statement.

 

To designers. Obviously you say you listen to fans for input as voted by beating out Devi and Bruticus for best combiner. Then you come up with the designs we see here and you give us some hungry looking figure that resembles a starving Predaking who hasn’t eaten in ages. Give us fixes that bring in spikes for where they belong. That’s the predating we ask for. Not this thing. But I guess it’s still Predaking and mine is on the way.
Thanks for that st least. Also why are you people including weapons. You losing tons of sales due to lack of weapons. Come in. Give us complete figures Hasbro. Or 3rd party companies will continue to out perform you with 3rd party figures. Truly the truth.

They should have just used the Deluxe limb, Voyager body size that the Terrorcons and Dinobots used. It would have made for a better combiner and would have rid individual bots of their GIANT square backpacks.

The concept design is amazing.
If the final toy looked like the design it would have been the definitive Predaking for many people and dethroned the 3P offerings.

Edit : the design is definitely an update to Studio Ox design.

 

Predaking is like a mad uncle locked in someones' basement only it's a good toy trying to get out the the chains of meh.
It's only acceptable by any comparison as Devastator was so terrible.
But it's a huge step down from Trypticon.
