Whenever actors or studio execs say \"it will satisfy fans\" you can tell they dont know a damn thing about what the fanbase wanted. Just their own projection of what they think fans want.

I don't think the Bumblebee film will reinvigorate the fandom.

Not because of quality. It could be the best Transformers movie yet. Rather, I think it's because the fandom's tastes are so varied that there isn't this imaginary future movie that will please most, or at least the vast majority, of the fan base. Fans will complain about whatever the current fiction is.

I really could care less if fans approve or not at this point. Frankly, I think some of the best creative decisions in the films were decisions that most of the fandom despised. The films are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Every single one of the films was ripped apart when it came out, even the films that actually did things meant to appease the fandom. If the 1980s had an internet fandom, the 1986 movie would have been raged against by this fandom when it came out. Whatever.

Whether the general public will like it is another matter.

So then wouldn’t have made more sense for Hasbro / Paramount to wait till after this movie was released to say, “Oh hey, this movie-verse era is over.” OR is this the beginning of the new one after post edits, audience reactions, and such?

Nonononono, don't throw my ass into your protest. Life's too short. If he does a Five-Knuckle Shuffle, I'll just be forced to see his character as "John Cena but he's an SS guy", which I don't want. I'd be open to him doing an AA, just like I was open to Rock doing the Rock Bottom in Jumanji.

Well, since the term "producer" means "I helped finance this", yeah, basically. The idea of this movie, if I'm not mistaken, is to be the Listerine that washes the mouth of the moviegoing public of the morning breath that was Transformers 2-5 by being as completely different and removed from those movies as possible. Because, believe it or not, there are some fun stories that can be told about aliens from another planet that turn into stuff. It's just a matter of finding those stories and putting them in the right hands.

I think the fanbase wants a fresh take, that's for sure. Baylovers want infinite aweful movies.

As far as this movie is concerned, with 10 years of the same nonsense, it would really have to be doing something amazing to catch my attention and after seeing the model for Bumblebee, I don't think Hasbro Paramount did anything amazing here.

I don't know this, but since they're using existing bay designs and this is a prequel to 5 terrible movies why should I be optimistic?

Keep in mind each time Bay promised to quit and each time they told us it would be rebooted different or better....all lies.
