I loved it when they released the prequel novels to the first movie and rotf.  I helped to bridge the gaps and bring the reader up to speed.  Too bad they don’t do that anymore.

It's DOTM all over again

 

Bay was the one who banned the novelizations so it makes sense for them to return after him leaving the director's chair.

 

I really never understood Bay\'s ban on the novels. Plot details being leaked are going to be inevitable and if you really don\'t want that? You could make them delay the novel to where it comes out after the film.

 

Because the novels were 100x better !

 

Because Que falling into a river and being killed by 100 Decepticons that are just there randomly is way better than what happened in the movie.

I'm trying to remain optimistic about the Bumbler movie, and I hope Travis Knight gets to make the movie he wants to make without any studio interference, but there's a teeny tiny part of me hopes it flounders so maybe the Bumbler purge begins. I'm sick and tired of the character and what it has become.

 

Here's a summary of the plot:

Bumblebee was a part of Iran Contra, Madonna's rise to success (he is the material she was referring to), and went by the alias Billie Jean. He will make beeps and use radio clips that happen to be exactly what he needs to say at any given time while he will lay waste to anything that gets in his way. He is looking for "the thing" which is something here on Earth that holds the key to everything TransFormers. Once he finds it, nothing happens.

The end.

 

I'd buy it

 

It was solely meant to hide sentinels betrayal and Ironhides emotional death but IDW was way too stuipid and incompetent to delay its publishing which is why it was available at "books-a-million" retailers a month before the film came out.

 

Ha, ha, h-you're actually quite right about that but joking aside? I still find it ridiculous.

But still, to ban all novels? That's such an overreaction from Bay. At the very least Hasbro and Paramount could've given IDW a stern talking to or really just don't make a big deal about it.

 

Since Bay aint doing this one. Can we get some IDW prequel comics or maybe a sequel comic to bridge the gap from this film to 2007 film?

Bay banned them because he can't read. Hence why the transformers were piles of micro junk shifting mass instead of large part mechanical puzzles. His interpretations looked like Car guru's garage, piles of scrap parts turning into beautiful cars.

 

I'm not saying they should stay banned forever (I too would welcome them back) but after 7 years they should learn their lessons and not pull a stunt like that again.

 

Better than box looking transformers that make no sense like size mistakes color mistakes character mistakes

 

Agreed, I wasn't advocating a CGI sunbow with inconsistencies either but no shame for me to admit I'd take a CGI mastered G1 look anyday. Reminds me of what happened to GI Joe, went from semi realistic for our time to monsters and goblins.

 

Yeah about Bay\'s book banning... he probably had enough and didn\'t want to have the plot leaked for the third time in a row.  Ya know that happened for RotF too.  Plus the fictional continuities kinda went out of the window with AoE due to Lockdown\'s presence anyways.
