Don’t know if it’s come out yet, but should be by the end of the day, Toys r us is closing multiple US based stores, a full list should be forthcoming.

Reading this, it sounds like they've actually been able to put store closures until August.

 

This feels like Radio Shack right before they died.

I had two Radio Shacks near my neighborhood, and they were planning to close one and move the excess stock to the other. Two weeks later, the entire company folded and all the stores were closed.

 

Difference with TRU mind is that the big toy companies in the US kinda can't afford to have TRU close. It's the only place they've got at retail where they're the main vendors rather than the sideshows.

 

I've got two stores in Portland, OR. I hope that both of them stick around. They're in pretty good areas.

 

As long as I can still get the upcoming exclusive Thundercracker, I’m okay with mine closing. Though a part of my childhood will go with it.

 

There's only one TRU left here so I hope it doesn't close.

 

Hopefully the one nearby won't close. Sure the prices are a little higher but it's also literally the only store where I can find certain choice merchandise anymore. Main retail just isn't cutting it much for anything that is less than big ticket.

My local one was by the mall for years and about 5 or so years ago built a new store. It would suck to see it go.

Hopefully mine won't close. It is doing rather well and gets a lot of business, but ya never know.

 

Is the 180 primarily in the USA or worldwide?

There are 875 TRU stores in the USA and it's territories. There are also 765 International stores and 37 licensed stores.

Well, I mean within Portland city limits, though yeah, Tigard is no.3 if you're counting the Portland Metro area.

Mall 205? I think you mean Jantzen Beach.  

....Unless there's one there. I rarely ever venture into the guts of the "mall" now. I usually only hit up Target and Home Depot there.
