TakaraTomy's version of "Movie Edition" will be launching in April 2018 alongside MPM-5.

 

Nice, must be coming soon from Hasbro then. Probably a big toy fair reveal.

 

No G1 or BW Masterpiece for April then, damn. No Legends either?

But this is big for Movie-fans, you'll most likely get a full look at MPM-05 and the first new molds from the Movie Generations line within the next two weeks!

 

Looks like MP Dinobot will have to wait till May at the earliest. The Legends line also looks like it'll take a few months off while the Movie line takes over for a couple of months or more.

If the new movie molds are any good, April will be very hard on the wallet.

Yup, May it's guess, if he's revealed at color at november, (some similar period of time to megatron's), but if he isn't, then i expect him to come before july.

 

Based on the Hasbro leaks, I was glad to see a movie line without Bumblebee for once.

It looks like they couldn't resist leaving the yellow fella out. Perhaps it's just a repaint of an existing mold that TakaraTomy is doing for their line that Hasbro isnt'.

 

I'm glad that TakaraTomy's version of MPM Barricade is being announced this far in advance, unlike MPM-3 and 4 which were only announced a couple of months before their respective releases.

This way, we can hopefully expect a longer pre-order window for Barricade.

 

That's un-true, bee was revealed at the begining of january yet released at the end days of june.

We barely got proper preorders.

 

Ok correction, pre-orders were 2 months before release, not the announcement.

 

Now the question is... premium paint jobs ala "Movie The Best" or just Hasbro repackaging like TLK? (I'm aware that some figures had minimal changes in paint, but still)

I mean we won't be able to tell until Hasbro show their figures, but I would prefer it if they aren't the same. Although, if they are painted up like Movie The Best figures and Hasbro can release those without losing any paint, that would be fine too

Unless he got "bumblebee" as code name to not reveal so much, in the leaks he was under the code name "tf6 stryker".

 

I'm betting the JPY 10,000 one is either a MPM Barricade or Movie Edition Devastator.

 

I wished they'd spread the releases out a bit more.

There're only 6 figures from the leak left for the following month - (Voyagers) ROTF Megatron and Brawl, (Voyagers) Ironhide and ROTF Starcream, and (Deluxes) Jazz and Lockdown.

I guess TakaraTomy want to start getting the POTP figures out in their LG and UW lines by June.

So, Stinger's probably the AOE release again.

Could be ANY of the Bumblebee molds again but I think we'll see something recent.

Ratchet is either the ROTF or DOTM Deluxe; the latter is the superior one so I hope that's it.

Crowbar... maybe a Berzerker repaint?

Optimus & Starscream both have multiple Voyager molds to choose from.

and Leader Grimlock, again- know what that one is.

Is it possible Blackout is the ONLY new mold in this lineup???

 

Grimlock is definitely a new mold, we've seen the prototype in the leaks, and I think Voyager Prime and Starscream are also new?

 

Those are new molds though.

Just two figures are remolds/redecos.

If there are 16 figures from the furst waces of this line, then that means at least two of them are the re-used ones.

What could mean 14 new molds & 2 redecos.

 

Will be interesting to see the paint apps on them, or the differences between them and the hasbro versions.
