Well I like the look of that design and i'll be anticipating more images but the only non-Transforming products I would be interested in purchasing would be like Studio OX style gestalts.

Hasbro, why you no let official Third Parties make Transformers that transform? They look so good!

In the world of video games, yes. In the world of action figures, it's just an officially licensed product.

I don't really like the legs. Or the arms. Or the chest. It's just a little too overdone for my tastes. I'll wait to see final pics though, maybe it's just the line art that makes it look this way.

Not at any point in your life should that make you throw up in your mouth.

    ...From a third party.

The term "third party" does not exist solely in the realm of video games. If it is not the IP owner or the consumer, it is a third party.

Just to save you future heartache, if it's an officially-licensed Third Party release, then the odds are it won't transform.

In all likelihood, Hasbro/TakaraTomy have specifically written "non-compete" clauses in their licensing agreements that forbid the licencees from creating transformable figures. You know, so they can't get run out of the market by someone particularly ambitious and uppity. Exceptions can be made for more niche product like Sen-Ti-Nel's transforming Optimus Prime pens, but those tend to be few and far between.

Never said it existed solely in video games. But in that world, first party is Sony, second party is a developer owned by or exclusive to Sony, third party games are licensed by Sony to develop games for their and their competitor's console. In the action figure world, third party describes those companies who do not directly create KO's of the IP but instead create their own molds that more or less infringe on the IP. There's an entire forum on this board dedicated to it. Its even called '3rd Party Discussion Forum'. Betcha a wooden nickel there are no threads about official product anywhere to be found.

I kind of like it, but dislike how Gundam-y this series is becoming...

Idk, but I like my TF's as TF's, and for Gundams to stay the f**k away.

That's Unlicensed third party merchandise. Most just call it third party for convenience. Any figures not made by Hasbro/Takara but still under the official Transformers brand are third party figures.

That looks awesome. Might need to bite. All the stuff Flametoys is showing intrigues me.

I still hope for MMC to do a IDW Starsaber so I can buy that instead.

Flame Toys offering looks pretty sick though.
