A rather lengthy interview with the editors of The Last Knight.

(How long is a "three million feet of film" time-wise? Edit: Huh, apparently it's around 10h.)

It must have been impossible to edit this film under Bay's guidelines... Now I see why the scenes ended up as they did.

So this is the group responsible for this horrific cut of a movie. If this was truly the "best cut" possible, then the footage to work with must have been absolute junk. So much of this story did not make sense because of the cut!!

It's like talking to religious people in denial. You can almost touch the brainwash.

    So that's why it sucks.

I would like to know why they used leftover footage from ROTF. Sure it's good business cost cutting, but did they really think those with a good memory wouldn't notice?

Those editors worked on some really crappy films. Somehow Gravity got praise, but I found it to be insufferable strung along crap with no real story other than Sandra Bullock being as annoying as possible screaming through space.

Looks like that is where TLK came from. Instead of working together I think each editor got to cut their own scene and they stitched them together to make a movie. There were scenes like the Suicide Squad decepticons that made me want to throw something at the screen.

So I guess I was pretty much right. Michael Bay simply got too ambitious with this film. He wanted it to be big and bold, a clean slate for his version of Transformers.

That's nice and all, but if he wanted to do that, he should have rebooted. Seems this whole cinematic universe idea really hurt them film since pratically everyone was wanting to push it forward as a new starting point, regardless of what the previous four films had established.

A mess. A fucking mess. And these people got paid for it. I should have given my ticket money to the homeless bum pissing in the alleyway next to the theater.

Look from the sound of it these guys did really bust their asses so I feel for them, but this was still perhaps the worst edited and cut film of the series.

It took an Editing Team to put things together but still ended "all over the place".
And it warranted some people to watch the 2nd and 3rd time to appreciate the entire film.

I think the editing team probably did the best they could with what they were given. The plot was a mess of different storylines, it can't be easy to work with that.

Lol, I\'m not surprised at all that TLK had stock footage from at least on of the other films.  I think every TF movie had stock footage from at least on of Bay\'s movies.  ROTF even uses its own footage multiple times in its own movie.  Fucking pathetic.
