The cannon looks huge and intimidating.

Both of these guys are half the price of ThreeA's, taller and better looking too.

    Toy Alliance superior, ThreeA inferior.

Just missing the melee weapons, but Takara/Hasbro must have prevented them from making them so that people will still need to buy the MP line.

Eh, I don't know. ThreeA's are more expensive, but are also heftier and have way more paint applications. Not a knock on MAS-01, which is a great toy, but still. And "better looking" is subjective.
I doubt that's why they wouldn't include the melee weapons, seems like rather flimsy reasoning when we've seen other licensed 3rd party figures have them.

I would not say Three A's is heftier. Well, I haven't handled MAS-01 yet, but Three A's is pretty light.

Well, I stand corrected. Interesting that a figure touted to have a large amount of diecast seems to be relatively light, going off of both what you said and the BBTS listings.

I was actually surprised the first time I handled a Three A bot. Like a lot of collectors, I expected something heftier and online reviewers don't even mention it. Paint apps are much better on Three A for sure and maybe they make a more limited supply of the figures but I never found the price to be worth it. I think MAS-01 seems worth his price.

For that price, I'd rather buy their Movie Prime. At least that one is intricate and detailed enough to justify the price point.

I'm on Team Ultimetal too, but seeing how slow they're moving, MAS-02 will probably be released before Ultimetal Megatron. I think the key here for Toys Alliance is nailing Megatron's face which can be a hit or miss - if it looks like that 3D render in the image, I'd be good with it.

No thanks, I need something like this MP sized. Same height as MP-10. G1 cartoon style. I'm just going to keep asking and asking.

Just picked up the Mega Optimus Prime this past weekend and he is amazing. Now I'll definitely have to get Megatron when he comes out so they can square off in a mega battle.

Are these supposed to get a Hasbro release in the U.S. or are they only going to be available through on-line orders? I picked up Prime at a toy show. I didn't know he even existed until I saw him on Saturday.

Can't wait to see the final pics of MAS-02. The thighs look a little short, but I wonder if it is just the angle of a possible pose.

I just hope his fusion cannon has a light up feature. That's the only thing I didn't like about Prime's weapon, it didn't light up.
