... and now we know why Hasbro got the name "Hot Rod" back this year (Platinum Edition, Titans Return).

 

Holy christ is that an ugly design.

 

Huh, that's actually not bad. Pretty sleak. Visible alt mode kibble! A tracable transformation scheme! Oh how I missed these basic elements of design.

Head seems generic, though. Like compared to Drift or Crosshairs or Prime it's incredibly indistinct and feels like it's missing something. In fact he's really basic overall.

 

You sure this is legit? This looks more of a fan design for him. Usually we get official confirmation from Bay himself and also we usually don't have robot modes revealed till next year.

 

Yup not like it was the 30th anniversary of movie the character first appeared in or anything.

 

...Looks more like G2 Sideswipe.
If your going to call a character Hot Rod, he needs the Spoiler at least in robot mode and red yellow and orange colors.

But bay just can't help himself.

This is real? As in Hot Rod is actually in TLA, A Bumblebee retool and it was revealed on the Transformers Facebook first with amatuer level font in the typing?

 

The official movie Twitter JUST tweeted that out. So I'm assuming it is legit, though the timing is pretty odd.

Not to mention a fan design would have a better head.

I love how every movie years fans complain about the lack of accuracy to previous iterations as if this is somehow not how it's been since day one nearly a decade ago.

Nobody should be surprised this doesn't look like Hot Rod.

Bay likes to mix and match character bios with designs of other characters ....his bio sounds more like cliffjumper....

 

I didn't see a link in the original post when I first looked at it, and the other posts above mine were posted while I was creating my post.

 

That is not Hot Rod.

The least they could've done is made him be mostly red with yellow flames.

But hey, at least he's gonna be in a movie and Hasbro has his name back.
