I am very high on MakeToys work. This will likely be my Jazz.

 

This guy looks good but yet again, another candidate TT will be very likely to make and maketoys also have this weird fetish for making heavily toy/Japanese inspired masterpieces, for all we know this guy will probably come with a completely silver face and there will be no alternate face.

Looks good though, I'll be watching it!

I think TT has all the desire in the world to do MP Jazz...what I don't know is if they'll get the licensing. I kinda think they'd have released or announced him by now if they weren't having difficulties in that department. Doesn't mean it won't ever get sorted, but I'm not overly confident it's a slam dunk and matter of time, as I think is the case with Hound.

Have j4zz preordered but will get this too. So far MT's remastered series looks phenomenal.

 

Yep until there is a proto or render, it's hard to declare a drawing superior to a fully done prototype.

 

Copula was great, ill buy this guy even if an mp comes along. Im sure its a while away though.

 

I respectfully disagree, isn't this the same thing people were saying about Shockwave when Quakewave was out and look how that turned out, hello MP-29. I have no insider knowledge and just going with my gut but I think people put way too much stock into the whole licencing thing, I honestly think Jazz and a whole bunch of other robots are sitting there and TT is taking their sweet time deciding when to release him(them).

I seem to recall a lot of noise being made about MP-21, about the whole licence nazi war machine issue and what happened to that.....he still got made. In short, money talks and bullshit walks, I think given how niche mp's are, the fact it's made predominantly for the Japanese and how some of the historical social issues aren't that relevant there as well, probably meaning licencing isn't as big a deal as people make it.

Just my hunch and by this reasoning I'm sure we'll see a Jazz....even if it takes four years like Shockwave!

To me (and others I assume) there is no point in waiting. I no longer expect Takara to outdo the best offerings from the 3P world.

There are plenty of 3P figures on my shelf that aren't going anywhere when an official product shows up.

I would put MakeToys and Ocular Max in that category. I was hoping OM would do Jazz, but with their Trailbreaker/Hoist reveal I am completely satisfied with this arrangement.
