Among the images TDW released was one for their possibly second kit, one for Defensor. Presumable it will be SIMILAR to the Bruticus one except for the head and chest.

So it will probably include head, hands feet, chest, weapons, and a hip ratchet fix that doubles the joints, just like their Bruticus upgrade and cost about $50.

Looks promising. Defensor's torso could really use some fixes.

 

I don't like the face sculpt. But I'm interested in seeing what the new chest plate looks like.

 

I'd go for something that bulks up Defensor's torso. I'm not so interested in the new head, hands and feet, though - though I might consider using the hands and feet on Bruticus, if the colours are suitable.

 

After taking another look at the photo, the sunglasses seem detached from the face and helmet. Possibly implying a flip-down visor gimmick?

Good commentary on Hot Spot's new look.

 

Looks nice but too many parts for my taste.

 

not concerned about the hands and feet (PE feet and stock hands work for me) but I do like the new chestplate.

It's a maybe - definitely looks better than their Bruticus addon kit.

 

The head is not so good but the rest is interesting.

 

As with bruticus I think I'd prefer the hands and feet be their own set.

 

Looks good. Now there has to be a new Menasor and Superion kit sometime soon

 

Then again they are making an upgrade kit for bruticus too XD

 

I do like how they filled in Hot Spot's gaps in vehicle mode.

However I have the same concern with this that I do with the Bruticus set being aesthetically different from the CW style. I still might be interested in this possibly if Takara releases a Guard City. Need to see how this looks colored to match Defensor first to see how it works out.

 

Thanks to TDW, we have the option for 3rd party combiners look at a fraction of the price  

 

Indeed, I agree with you....too many parts and I am not sure I like the front wheels track width being wider than the rear wheels. (I realize that's because it's Onslaught's upgrade flipped but still...)

I am however planning to get the DW Bruticus upgrade with all that firepower. The only parts of the set I won't use is the alt. heads as I am quite happy with Hasbro's existing head sculpt. I was getting ready to order a second PC-09 for Sky Reign but now I don't have to once the DW Bruticus upgrade set releases.

Does anyone here own Grand Convoy? I am considering the set myself but would like to see some more pics of him before I decide. I would really like to see some of combined mode, the individual bots, & their alt. mode pics. (BBTS, TFSource, etc pics are okay but I would prefer seeing other's in-hand pics before deciding)

Hmm I like this

 

The end result is far too futuristic to me, almost Gundam-ish... I'll wait til full color pics show up. The price is perfect though, assuming they stick with the $50 price point (I'm betting it won't, but that's the pessimist in me).
