TFSS 3.0 Tarantulas and Serpent O.R. New In-Hand Images

Both look amazing! Wow. They turned out much better than I expected. Might have to track these down...  

 

Tarantulas looks fantastic, and I'm definitely interested in picking him up. Great use of the arms microns.

Unfortunately the Serpent OR looks a little flat and dull compared to the mockup which had a nice metallic sheen to the plastic/paint.

 

First pics of Serpentor looked golden and it was amazing, in the pics after that he was werthers original colored and it sucked hard. Now it's somewhere inbetween and he does look good. If we would have gone from golden to this I might have been dissapointed but the werthers original step inbetween makes me brethe a sigh of relief and he looks nice.

Tarantulas looks nice too, I didn't realize he would come with two of his drone insect guys but that is really cool!
Not that I want the toy as Tarantulas really, I'm just a whore for the Generations/RTS 2010/2011 molds.

 

Neither particularly do anything for me as they were the least anticipated of the six figures, personally, and these pics don't push me toward a purchase. Bully for those who want them, though.

 

I'm glad the Arms Microns do have some paint; I was worried that might get left out of the final product. Tarantulas looks nice, but I still see it as a Strika/Obsidian-equivalent for BM Thrust moreso than Tarantulas. That's not a bad thing in my eyes though.

SerpentOR's lack of metallic gold is disappointing. Maybe it'll look nice in-hand, but these new pics aren't making me more excited for it.

 

Serps just didn't turn out well compared to what we were first shown. Thought it was going to be a nice match for Ratbat, but that "gold" just isn't cutting it sadly.

 

Agreed. That yellow color just doesn't do the toy justice. However Tarantulas is looking great. Hopefully I can find him somewhere for a decent price.

 

Wow, Serps did not turn out well. This went from a character I had no idea about but looked cool and wanted, to a character that I have no idea about and now does not look good and don't want  

 

Yeah, wow. Serpentor just looks flat and mustard-y.

Especially bad since it's a mold well known for its metallic sheen, redone in the colors of a character famous for being metallic. And it winds up being one of the flattest looking figures I've ever seen. And the jet mode colors just don't look good, but that's sorta to be expected. It's designed with the robot mode in mind, and that's okay.

Tarantulas looks excellent, though.

 

Serpentor went from "Buy" to "Pass" for me. Disappointing.

 

Tarrantulus looks fantastic. They really seem to have taken in all comments we had when he was shown originally and they really managed to make a Junkion mold look like Tarantulus. Serpent does look a tad underwhelming, although I do like the Scourge mold so I might get it for that anyway. Heck I 'm not even a Joe fan (might watch the original series someday though) but with Serpant and the upcoming pair of Soundwaves as well as Viper from CW we're pretty much getting a series of GI Joe TFs at this point which is kinda cool (toss in Energon Snowcat for good measure).

 

Man, what did they do to Serpent OR? He went from awesome and all metallic to just plain flat and mustardy. At this point I'm only picking him up because he's from a really good story. If I didn't like the character as much as I do I'd pass on him at this point... not to mention that I'm pretty sure this character will never get another toy done. Disappointed.

On the other hand Tarantulas looks aces and he'll look nice with the rest of my pre-BW Beast Wars guys. Glad I didn't sell that set when I was considering it a couple years back.

Serpentor = Disappointment

Serpent OR is from.a devils due Transformers vrs GIJOE comic iirc 4 part limited series. I actually own this comic and he is a pretty bad ass character. What he is, is Megatron's kid and is made by cobra I believe if I remember right. The way I remember it he was kinda made but had Megatron as part of his CNA (like DNA but cybertron) and he looks pretty much spot on to this likeness. Hes a strong character and acts a bit like sepentor and Megatron combined.

I could be slightly off as my.book is burried and if anyone can correct anything I may have gotten or missed be my guest. I'll try to un bury the book and come back with more details

Still wish this turned out better. I'm hoping Pete pops in here to give some background for the color change. Could have been just too cost prohibitive?

 

Can you tell me what you mean by "pair of soundwaves" I'm completely clueless there. I would guess titan wars but thstd a wild guess and if so please elaborate thanks.

About Serpent O.R. I have him pre ordered and I think he looks good like the book but I would definitely prefer metallic gold like the pictures I pre order ed from
