Oh Wheeljack how I've missed you!

 

Perhaps it's because of Wheeljack's face plate but Stone seems to have a slightly crisper line in this comic than the Windblade miniseries, at least on characters. Don't get me wrong, it's still quite expressive and there's a playfulness perhaps, with the environments and how characters sit within them that's all hers.

It's pretty simple, but I like how the full page of Wheeljack is a visual punchline to the previous one, where Flatline seems upside down.

 

Beautiful art & Wheeljack's back! I can't wait to see the whole issue. When are we going to get Stone as a fill in artist on MTMTE?

 

Oh thank god, they finally got back to this. Wheeljack was the only character I liked from season one (or whatever we're calling pre Dark Cybertron) apart from maybe Starscream .He's been absent in recently so I'm glad they're getting back to him too.

 

Stone's Wheeljack is flippin gorgeous.

 

And now I'm super excited for RID #33. I didn't realize Stone was filling in for this issue so color me pleasantly surprised. (Not that I'm complaining about Griffith who I think does a good job overall but since this is the first issue taking place back on Cybertron following Windblade, it feels appropriate that Stone is filling in.)

 

Yay, Wheeljack's coming back.

Also, Yay more Sarah Stone artwork.   Looking forward to this.

I forget Wheeljack's appearance at the end of his portion of S1...were they using the Prime design previously or is that new?

 

Hm. Wheeljack got all Prime-y during his time in the bacta-tank.  

I suspect that Stone is also a bit more precise when she isn't doing a regular monthly book. Comparing the opening pages of Windblade to the later stuff, you see that there's a real drop in visual coherency.

Which is not really a slam on her. With her style, he's basically doing triple duty... penciling, inking AND colours, so it's no surprise that her technique suffers a bit when it's under a tight schedule. I suspect she had more time here. We'll see how the last page looks though.

Oh, he does have his Prime design! That's good for my collection, Generations Wheeljack is way too bulky looking to me.

 

Yes please! I'd love to see some MTMTE characters in her style. I think Tailgate would be too cute to handle.

And it's brilliant to see Wheeljack back. I really missed him. Why is he upside down, though? Did no one think to catch him or tilt the pod on it's side? You're a rubbish docotr, Flatline. Letting you patients flop all over the place.

 

Eh? It's the exact same character model he had before being shot. It looks a bit curvier with Stone drawing it, but the details are all identical.

 

Ha! Infestation reference.

 

Oh, you're right. Huh, I've never examined his design before. It looks like a mix between G1 and Prime. Well, even if it's not new, I can still use his Prime to represent him. It's even officially RID Wheeljack.

 

I feel for Wheeljack meaning he has several things that happened since he had been napping. Megatron is an Autobot. Prowl is now part of the Constructicons. Lost Light return to Cybertron. Windblade.....

 

Oh, sweet!

 

I know death fakeouts are a big point of contention for these comics, but Wheeljack was easily the best character in RID, so I'm glad to see him back.

lol'd at the Infestation reference, just treat it like a bad night out in Vegas and say no more, haha.
Cautiously optimistic for this one.
