The TFW TF2 Insider brings us more news about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This time we can exclusively reveal both alternate modes for Soundwave. He will appear in a Cybertron mode, which will turn into a satellite, and he will also appear in an Earth mode - this will be a pickup truck.

According to the official website of the city of Coronado California Dreamworks Productions had set to begin filming several action sequences at the Naval Base in Coronado on October 9 for a day. While Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is not specifically mentioned, it is safe to assume that this was the Dreamworks production being filmed. The website states that the work taking place would consist of "gunfire and small explosive visual effects".

The Onion A.V. Club is reporting that it was announced this week at the National Association of Convenience Stores Convention in Chicago that M&M will have a candy tie-in product to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The M&M product will be a new flavor of candy, called Strawberried Peanut Butter. No samples were available, but its expected that the packaging for this tie-in will feature plenty of Transformers goodness.

Thanks to Soundwave84 for pointing out that according to Variety the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences board of governors has lifted a long standing ban on movie advertising during the Academy Awards telecast. This article hints that a possible Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and other 2009 blockbusters such as GI Joe could be showing promotional trailers during this years Academy Awards telecast.

Even more images from the set of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen on location at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona have made their way onto the internet. These images show, amongst others, Bumblebee on set alongside many planes, some made up with military stylings, and several other vehicles under tarps. Thanks to Anonymous, we know that the Chevy Trax was on set along with the Centennial Corvette "Sideswipe". This is in addition to our previous report of the Chevy Beat on set. The insider reveals a few cryptic details of what is going on in the scene, as well.

The images feature the Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Trax, and Chevrolet Beat. The most exciting part of these pictures is that they reveal the license plate on the Chevrolet Beat reads SKIDS. Has the identity of the Chevrolet Beat been revealed? There is no official confirmation, but it appears that Skids is likely the name of the Autobot disguised as the Chevrolet Beat.

While the show sent ratings up 22% at 4.5 with its post-Emmy Awards coverage on September 22nd, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen exclusive look the next day bumped up the ratings to a 4.6. Moreover, the ratings seem to indicate the anticipation building up for the sequel. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is due out in theatres and IMAX on June 26, 2009.

Yesterday, Paramount and DreamWorks SKG struck a deal that ends a partnership between the two production groups. Steven Speilberg, along with his other co-founders, will form an independent studio that is backed by Indian conglomerate Reliance. There are agreements in place that allow DreamWorks to co-produce and co-distribute several titles and DreamWorks will lead the production of several upcoming movies. Additionally, Steven Speilberg will continue to act as an executive producer on all Transformers movies although Paramount will continue to produce the movie series.

Thanks to TFW2005 member xSEANxLONGx for pointing out that according to a report from TMZ.com Transformers Revenge of he Fallen star Shia LaBeouf has been injured on set during filming. According to the report Shia required stitches after he was cut below his eyebrow by a prop. Good news for fans however as despite this latest injury Shia returned to the set shortly after being treated. This latest injury comes after a car crash several weeks ago that severely injured Shia's hand.

According to a press release received by Ain't It Cool News, the Transformers sequel Revenge of the Fallen will have key action sequences shot with IMAX cameras, as was done previously with The Dark Knight, released earlier this year.
The IMAX scenes will be integrated with sequences shot on regular 35mm film for regular theaters. The movie will simultaneously be released at IMAX theaters, with the 35mm scenes upgraded with IMAX's digital re-mastering process. Either way you view the sequel, it should be an exciting experience!

The Arizona Daily Star reports that Transformers 2: "Revenge of the Fallen" will be filming at Tuscon International Airport on October 6th, and will involve a scene with airport travelers.

The MTV Movie Blog reports that Peter Cullen has returned to work on the Transformers 2 Movie: Revenge of the Fallen. Mr. Cullen states that he has recorded the opening for the movie, and that Director Michael Bay has brought him back as they have begun working on some of the animation for the film. He suspects work on the main part of the film will begin later in the Fall, possibly in November. Read more about the report here.

An associated press release from Yahoo News reports that Shia LaBeouf will not be charged for driving drunk from the accident that caused his hand injury back in July. The actor may have his licensed suspended for refusing a breathalyzer test.
