Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark - Bumblebee Trailer

Transformers-Rise-Of-The-Dark-Spark---Bumblebee-Trailer
Thanks to GT, we have with us the Bumblebee Character Trailer for Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark.

"Serving as a follow-up to both the upcoming TRANSFORMERS live-action film and Activision's TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON and TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON titles, TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK jumps worlds and factions as it weaves the tale of the hunt for an ancient relic as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership - the Dark Spark. Players will be able to switch between the heroes of the noble AUTOBOTS and the nefarious DECEPTICONS throughout the single-player campaign. Similar to High Moon Studios' CYBERTRON entries in the highly regarded series, gameplay features nimble, fast-paced running-and-gunning combat paired with traversal and vehicle action across open battlefields for large-scale, dynamic conflicts."

The game is now rated "T for Teen".

Thanks! Earth Bee and Prime Bee together is awesome.
Liege Prime
It looks like the bots have a lot of detail but the environments are lacking, just like the previous movie based games. As long as the gameplay is good I will still want to play it. My only main concern is how long it will be- Dark of the Moon's paltry 4 hours was just nowhere near satisfying.

WFC Bee. Same thing.

The graphics look pretty weak, but it should still be fun to play, and that's what matters.
thewiredknight
Anybody else have a problem with them being called Earth Bee and Cybertron Bee? To me it makes this awkward suggestion that they are the same character in the same timeline - which is already iffy enough with aligned but to advertise them like this seems to say that the WFC games were prequels to the movie trilogy.
Powerglide1991
Have to say....that music is pretty damn awesome!

I don't get the complaint with the graphics....it's near enough the same as FOC graphics, but they took out how ridiculously SHINY everything was...which is good!
scoobsterinc
Looks like they are recording some of this gameplay in escalation considering it looks like bee was in the same map as prime was in the previous trailer.

Anyone notice WFC/FOC bee is on earth? Looks like we will be able to mix and match which continuity characters we will be able to use in escalation.

Its the earth sections, the textures are really flat and they lack detail.
YoungPrime
Wow, I guess to all the people who appreciated the fact that WFC/FOC games were a distinction from Bayformers. Hasbro and Activision say's "There you go suckers!"
MechaV
Did my eyes mistake me or did I see WFC Bee running around an Earth enviroment? Probably taken from the multiplayer.
DecepticusPrime
I still find it VERY iffy that WFC/FOC is in Prime continuity. Too many charecter differences for my taste, with Breakdown being a prime example.
I look at WFC/FoC as nice a nice general prequel to any transformers series.
Heat Guy
That was for the potato version right? Those graphics look just horrible.

It's using FOC's engine and assets... so the game will be serviceable to say the least.

Since the game is a move tie-in cash grab... I frankly wouldn't hold my breath expecting a full campaign lasting anywhere beyond what you mentioned for DotM. It'll be rehashed assets, movie figures, a short campaign, then FoC's Multiplayer. Highly doubtful they'll add to this at all.

Tell that to Hasbro, which insists they're part of a single Aligned continuity. They even threw the Dinobots into a Beast Hunters prequel comic.

One thing I'm scared of, could this be a multiplayer/Escalation only game with no story campaign? I doubt it but it worry's me that there is no gameplay or story trailer yet, the game comes out in 2 months, Fall of cyberton came out in August 2012, we got trailers 5 months before the game came out. I hope the game re-uses some of the maps from the previous games and touches them up along with some new maps. One thing is certain it is really hard to make earth maps for transformers compared to cybertron, they look out of place on Earth.
tonyformer
Love how movie Bee in this game as well as the toys don't have the car lights on the chest but now the newer renders of Bee do. Goes to show how fast they start designing these TFs and then get stuck with design looks that are no longer final lol. I bet Bay was like yeah let's go more smooth and less car parts with these new TFs an then pulled his famous "I don't like it, give him the lights back." Lol

Their stupid aligned continuity means shit to me when they try to claim its not part of the "multiverse"

This game looks so cut and paste (cheap), its not even funny. I mean AOE Bumblebee has the same weapons growing out of his arms as FOC-BB, which look just wrong when you compare the two. Just shows how much effort has gone into this since they haven't bothered to keep the artistic differences between both versions of the characters and versions of the franchise.
Prime Jetscream
Oh, wow, this looks godawful. They literally just copied DOTM and FOC and blended them, and didn't even bother to add new weapons. The only new things are the AOE models.
I find it really disgusting how insanely similar this is to FOC.
Scorpio
Those graphics look terrible - have no interest in this, which is a massive shame as I was hoping for a third WFC/FOC style game but instead this looks more like the ROTF PlayStation 2 game I have gathering dust.
cheetor71
Getting excited for this game. Now I just need to fix my Xbox. Drawer won't close

oh stop crying about it, we're lucky we're getting a sequel to FOC, I don't care if they re-use weapons or skins, as long as the gameplay is solid and the campaign is good. and how do you know there are no new weapons in the game??? they are smart by re-using weapons and skins, it cuts down on development time

This isn't a sequel.....its a cash-in, and one of the worst I have seen (its up there with Rambo the game.)

That's not Prime Bumblebee, I'll never tire of saying that there's no link between FoC and Prime, no matter that mangled "aligned continuity".

Looks like a mix between High Moon two last games, DOTM and FoC, and that's good for me (if quality leans towards FoC) and just really hope this will give us new Generations figures of Cybertronian design, I would very much like a Ratchet/Ironhide mold, for example.

I played the rambo game, do not even compare it to that disaster. I think this game is going to surprise everyone. If it's the same length as FOC I will be happy, in the bumblebee video you could see that have re-worked the enemies

I love angry joe's review of that game. lol

to me judging game by its graphics alone is same by judging book by its cover boring book with with colorful cover same with game could have fun playing this game may not will not until person is playing it regardless how graphics look
Crainy
I do not have a problem with them reusing assets. If they focus on adding alot of content and not on creating new assets, this could be a great game. Think FOC but with twice the amout of content and characters.

One of the best shooters of all time, Unreal Tournament 2004, was made possible in a similar way.

Did you SEE the Rambo game? That crap's unplayable.

At least this is running on the WfC/FoC game engine which means it'll actually be functional and fun if you enjoyed those games.

Personally, I'll wait to see if it's like the DotM game. That game was fine, but bare bones due to being a tie-in. If this is the same I'll just wait for a price drop.
The Ramjet
If they want people to get excited for this game they are really going about it the wrong way with these crappy videos.

Except it barely seems like a sequel. The whole concept of it makes it seem like the campaign won't even have time to do AOE or FOC justice.

The gameplay will be exactly the same as FOC, which is not only boring, but FOC's gameplay wasn't particularly great anyway. The physics engine sucked.

Quote:

They haven't shown any whatsoever in the trailers. All previous games have had absolutely no weapons from their predecessors except some weapon names in FOC.

Quote:

No they're not. It makes the game look lazy, cobbled together and all around like an uncreative rushed rehash, which it is, and is all the more evident considering High Moon isn't even working on it.

They shouldn't have to or want to. If they want to make a good game they should spend their time on it.

What we should be getting right now is a good AOE adaption with new and creative gameplay, not some bizarre crossover rehash.

That's my point, I traded in FOC a long time ago, but i downloaded a bootleg copy on my PC and I've played the campaign maybe 5 times, so much fun

"They shouldn't have to or want to. If they want to make a good game they should spend their time on it."

I'm guessing they probably had a year of develpoment time, maybe more, most movie games have a year, which is why in the past movie games have not been that great, but since most of the models/maps are finished, they could concentrate on the main game. Now you said they haven't changed anything, that's not true, the only gameplay we've seen is the bumblebee and Optimus trailers, but in Optimus' trailer you can see he is crouched down behind cover, so maybe they have added a cover system to the main game, which i think was always needed. so let's wait until we see more gameplay to judge it.
RedAlert Rescue
Hasbro like crowbaring the Videogames into whatever continuity is currently trendy - It's fine if the Beast Hunters you wish to consider it a prequel to is the one where Bumblebee has a Eagle Bow and a car mode covered in spikes etc... but making it fit with the Prime Cartoon is a pretty hard sell - regardless of stated intent.

Seeing it as a general prequel to whatever is much safer - but then if people didn't try to shoe it in the TFwiki would not be such great slapstick as it is when it tries to crowbar it in.

Breakdown is a good example, so is Dead End. I consider it a little unlikely that Terrorcon like Dead End is the same Guy as the Stunticon member - and anyway WFC isn't even consistent with itself across game platforms. So it seems a bit silly to consider it canon for anything really.

In 10 years time it will have been half forgotten anyway.

this is such a clusterfuck

Cover systems aren't really a huge thing, and they're pretty common now anyway. I forgot the scene, but it could have been a cutscene, couldn't it?
Besides, I doubt they actually did something creative with the gameplay if they didn't bother to change the ammo drops, health drops, guns, or anything like that.

at the 14 second mark you can see the gameplay of optimus crouching, not a cut scene

Actually that's partly the concern - each Cybertron game prior to this first premiered with a fantastic cinematic trailor that focused on the overall war or a big reveal this has just been straight gameplay trailers without context. Presently wer'e not even really certain how much of a crossover this is or not. On top of it, my biggest concern, is that High Moon is not working on the game which means the overall direction the franchise of games had isn't there.
bman29
I might pick this up out of curiosity. But its very obvious this is FOC assets mixed with some new movie models. Even the weapons are FOC used on movie designs. Which I think is lazy, because they both have very different design languages. But hey if its fun for an afternoon who gives a shite.
FanimusMaximus
Well at least they aren't going the lazy route by making it a phone game like they've been doing with movie games lately.
caldo15
the main story is a follow up to the movie, so I'm thining they are holding off on showing story content so they don't spoil the movie

NOTHING compares to how bad that Rambo game is. NOTHING.

At least there's a solid engine behind this cash-in. They'd have to reaaaaally work hard to mess this up.

I see.
Well, there's always room to hope for a full blown trailer once they're done with all these character 'trailers'.
Roller81
Oh look! Crap on a console. MAJOR surprise.
Very glad that High Moon isn't attached to this. That gives me a little bit of hope of there being a 3rd installment of their Cybertron series. And I agree that maybe this will mean a few more Wfc/Foc figures like Ratchet, or Ironhide. Would friggin love that. But that hope is marginal at best.
