Transformers G1 Game Will Be Reissued on Wii Virtual Console in Japan

Also some RPG that some people may vaguely remember. But this is Transformers news so I figured it goes here.

Wow. Now there's something I never expected to get an official re-release, even on the Virtual Console.

I can honestly say that I never, ever, ever expected that would even be a possibility. Strange but sort of cool, even if the game isn't any good.

I'm asuming the title doesn;t translate to have anything to do with Convoy fighting the Nazi's?...

I believe I read it translates as "Return of Optimus Prime" or something.


If "Nazo" did mean "Nazis", it would translate as "Optimus Prime's Nazis" or "Nazis of Optimus Prime".

Don't think so, that one is called Return of Comvoy... I've never even heard of this one.

Too bad the game isnt very good. I remember as a kid, It took me forever just to get past the first level... lol.

Wow, it's amazing what a successful movie will make spring from the woodwork... and after all these years it's STILL unbeatable fairly!

The irony is that to beat the first level you just have to run to the right the whole way...

I remember this being like the hardest game on earth.

What is it with Japanese developers and really bad licensed games based on mecha franchises? None of them are any good.

This game made me official hate Ultra Magnus.

To clear the air the title translates to Mystery of Convoy.

It was like the programmers forgot to write the health bar system and were like "ah screw it, one hit kills you" and none of their superiors cared enough to say anything.

It's funny that Optimus' death was still a mystery to Ultra Magnus.

Oh man, this was like the worst game I had ever played on the NES (but not as bad as Double Dare). I remember playing it on an NES emulator. I gave up on it pretty quickly, but I think there are a few YouTube videos of the game straight through. You had to fight a big Decepticon symbol and The Nemesis as the level bosses.

The most exciting bosses are a giant megatron, a decepticon symbol that fires from its eyes, and trypticon.
But their all on youtube for 20 seconds of fame, before they explode.

playing it on a emlulator though, auto fire is a must as your movement reaction time has to be sharp, after two hours I got through stage two. But only because enemy shots are really tough to dodge. The best approach is to try to run through the levels as quickly as possible. The slower option involves useing the truck mode's grenades tactically to dodge shooting flyers. But I'm not a fan of that. Just go with the auto fire run so you can avoid some of the dangers that just spawn (build?) into the screen

Ok, that's nice. But how about they make a really good, updated version game of G1.

I have this game. It's the most impossible thing I've ever played.

Man, this game is so bad the only thing it will serve to do is stain the Transformer name by rereleasing it. Someone is desperate for cash.

Man I wonder if it will be just like the orginal or if they may actually UPDATE it to where you do not feel like you are repeating the part in the movie where Magnus get blown up over and over and over again.

I feel sorry for anyone who would pay to play that game. It is total crap, and that is being nice. I hope this doesn't hurt the Transformers franchise in Japan.

Time to buy another wii points card

I really enjoyed the game myself, it was pretty hard though. to its credit it had alot of little hidden secrets if you gave it a chance and once you beat the game you can play as a new charecter (i won't spoil it for anyone), i'd love to see the headmasters game hit as well once they get fds emulation down better.

I personally would rather see this game come state side (with some tweaking of course)

Well, its a virtual console release so its hardly going to be prominent. I figure if it never hurt Transformers there in the first place, then its not going to do anything now.

Nintendo must be running out of games to release on the VC, though.

That's a better use than if he was able to spend it on the game. It's one thing to want the actual cartridge for novelty's sake, but to buy an electronic copy of it is just insanity.

Yeah, I remembered it was "Mystery" after I came offline and didn't have time to come back on to correct my mistake.

It's criminal to charge for that TF game, but SMRPG is the game I've most wanted to see released on VC... well, next to Chrono Trigger that is.

Does this one day mean that Beast Wars:Transmetals will someday make its way to the N64 portion of the VC?

I got owned by the first seeker jet, and said "oh what a crap".

btw, this game was to bridging the gap between OP and Rodimus era of G1 cartoon, because TFTM wasn't screened on time in japan and kids coudn't know what happened to old characters such as OP or Meg. I don't think this game gave them the clear solution though.
