| Awesome, glad to know Brady are making one; they did the strats for the BioShock games among others, and those were great guides, really informative. I always make a point to track down the strat guide for a game if there is/was one done when a game is released; sometimes they're just useful for pinning down that last item or hint for getting an achievement/trophy, or for mission stats and recommended weapons loadouts, then at other times it's good to have one for the sake of completion - game-&-guide bundles sell like hotcakes on marketplaces like Amazon and PlayTrade, especially if the game is a shooter or platformer. When it comes to games like the Halo, [Prototype], F.E.A.R. and Gears of War series, or Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the guide provides level maps, and has useful info that makes it that much less of a headache to play the game on higher difficulties. It has hints and tips that make the game more fun to play. Above all, though, I make the point to track down guides because I like having all the available information at my fingertips, whenever I need it. I like knowing that information is 100% reliable, and that the guide was compiled from the same information available to the people who made the game itself -- perhaps having been written and compiled by those very people. If you guys don't like knowing what's around the corner and being prepared for it, that's for you to decide. But I like knowing, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is handing the game its own ass on a platter. |
| Well sometimes people actually want paper and not digitized stuff. Yet gamers are ones to complain about how we don't get manuals anymore. When there's a blackout or your internet connection suddenly goes off then I'll be glad to have my book. |
