Cool

Nice for those who want it, but at this point I don't think anyone will be needing extra help with FOC, at least if they've played WFC.

I'll just put my cash towards that art book
Prime Jetscream
YES! I LOVE Brady Games! I still have the ROTF guide!
Walktehdinosaur
Since im not stupid I dont need this.

Waste of paper.

I find it hard to believe these things are still being printed.

Do these strategy guides help you find anything (like the Autobot/Decepticon logos in WFC)? That'd be the only reason I'd get this.

But they're hard to follow and most of them aren't good. I used YouTube to find the hidden Laserbeaks in WFC but I haven't found a good one yet for the hidden insignias and the game's 2 years old.

I find it hard to believe each guide book is hand crafted from ancient rainforest trees.

Never bought a guide book and never will, I can just look up anything I need online, and that's free and also includes porn. Win win situation.

Seriously do people really need a guide for this game?? im quite sure we all here have played WFC so we arent handicapped enough to actually need a guide book to FoC... it takes the fun out of discovering things on your own. Iv'e always thought of guide books as spoilers, I never use them. But 208 pages is pretty thick, must be a lot of content..

Haha, yeah I'm with you. Strategy guides are cool for GIANT RPGs like Final Fantasy or Elder Scrolls or whatever, but WFC/FOC? Nah.

My thoughts exactly. And everything in this book will be available in guides online anyway but it's cool that it's there for the people that love the strat' guides.
StarryAqua
I don't ever need guides. I'm just that good.

Awesome, glad to know Brady are making one; they did the strats for the BioShock games among others, and those were great guides, really informative.

I always make a point to track down the strat guide for a game if there is/was one done when a game is released; sometimes they're just useful for pinning down that last item or hint for getting an achievement/trophy, or for mission stats and recommended weapons loadouts, then at other times it's good to have one for the sake of completion - game-&-guide bundles sell like hotcakes on marketplaces like Amazon and PlayTrade, especially if the game is a shooter or platformer.

When it comes to games like the Halo, [Prototype], F.E.A.R. and Gears of War series, or Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the guide provides level maps, and has useful info that makes it that much less of a headache to play the game on higher difficulties. It has hints and tips that make the game more fun to play.

Above all, though, I make the point to track down guides because I like having all the available information at my fingertips, whenever I need it. I like knowing that information is 100% reliable, and that the guide was compiled from the same information available to the people who made the game itself -- perhaps having been written and compiled by those very people.

If you guys don't like knowing what's around the corner and being prepared for it, that's for you to decide. But I like knowing, and knowing is half the battle. The other half is handing the game its own ass on a platter.
Cosmic Forge
It's a collectors item more than anything. They never print many of these things, so it's just something else to go with your stash, if that's your deal.
GMANIFESS
The only way i got my platinum trophy on the last game was having the strategy guide.
Nothing like having most of the answers in your hands from day one.
Tips, tricks, artwork, maps, strategies, hidden item locations, etc... who wouldn't want all that in one location?

Waiting for some super-gamer to upload vids to youtube or create a FAQ is nice if you have the patience & can't afford the printed book. But i'm old school so give me a guide. Some don't always have access to youtube or online, but i haven't been anywhere where you can't take a book, even the bathroom.

EXACTLY. If your a super gamer that doesn't care about achievements or trophies, then of course skip the guides. But for semi-casual gamers like myself with limited time to spend on a couch, i want all available trusted information at my fingertips from day one & on. I like spoilers. I like answers. I haven't seen a youtube instructional vid that didn't annoy me. And i've never seen an online FAQ as visually appealing as the official strategy guides.
bumblebear
Don't need it, use Youtube.com it helful than waste damn tree paper .I make WFC 100% trophies by youtube .
Transformed
People still buy strategy guides even the the Net has all sorts of walkthroughs and how tos vids on Youtube and elsewhere? I'm a bit surprised.
silverbolt07
Well yes, youtube is another way but i didnt watch other people's videos on where to find this or how to do this, I had the joy of finding out myself, not saying that its wrong to get strategy guides. I have a platinum in WFC as well and it took longer than someone with a strategy book wouldve achieved but it felt good in the end because I did everything without a guide. I used strategy guides for big games like final fantasy and other RPG titles (kingdom hearts) because those games are huge! and theres so much content.

Well sometimes people actually want paper and not digitized stuff. Yet gamers are ones to complain about how we don't get manuals anymore. When there's a blackout or your internet connection suddenly goes off then I'll be glad to have my book.

INDEED.
Gamers complain about everything.

Real-life is tough, frustrating, challenging & the answers are not always available. I like my games to be enjoyable with answers in hand on day one.

Sometimes it takes a few weeks for all the unreliable answers & walkthroughs to pop up online for free. I still support printed media while it's still around.

The cover art looks pretty cool!
