Transformers: War For Cybertron has finally been (officially) released to store shelves. TFW2005 has received and reviewed the Xbox 360 version of Transformers: War For Cybertron. We are fully aware that the game has hit the streets early in some locations, we feel obligated to share our feelings with those that might be looking for a full length review from a Transformers fans perspective.
Is it a good Transformers game? Is it a good game in general? Should you run out and buy this game right now? You should definitely check out our review if you are on the fence.

I got this game Friday, just out of Gamestop, right in front of my doorway. This is the best TF I ever had (easy win with the others being the movie tie-ins…).
I also got all three extra characters, after an email battle with Gamestop customer care since they should have sent me an email with the codes when the game shipped butu never arrived, then they sent me Shockwave, after Demolishor and Jazz with a wrong Jazz code, and then the right one for the Autobot.
Cool thing if you go and buy from Italian Gamestop you can buy wiht the game (or even without it) W4C OP and BB, Generations Thrust and Drift for 10 € each (instead of usually 17). I just got lucky yesterday and took home OP without having to buy the game (good thing since I ordered it online and already had it).
This game is like Gears of War, but with Transformers in it. Awesomeness to the nth degree!

I reuploaded the frontpage trailer. Had to wait till it comes back online. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

the only thing i have to bitch about is how epic the autobot campaign was compared to the decepticons..it seemed like the bots got more awesome moments than the cons…..other than that this is one super sweet game…….hopefully they stay on cybertron for the next…something about the earth games turns me off…feels like been there done that….plenty more they can go w/ the cybertron direction as compared to comin to earth…L8s…ohh ya multiplayer is DA $#!+!!!!!!!!!!
Katarn84
As far as I know, everyone. Surely I do.
GMANIFESS
My only gripe is the muted colors on the bots & especially the cons.
I miss the old-school vibrant primary colors. Thought it was my TV, but depending on the stage it's inconsistent.

hey guys, that video on the front page iasn't working for me. Anyone else have this problem?
Transformed
I agree with this, but I'd like to add one more.
4. Not being able to switch from right-hand shooting to left makes me want to do this
Railguard
Yep. I can agree with the both of you plus my son wont let me play it, he hogs it!!! Plus I can't get my ps3 to log onto the internet. The game is great though!! The best eye candy I have seen so far!! I really wish that they would allow two people to play without going online as well as let you do your character without going online.

I feel ya on this man. It's harder for my eyes to distinguish the colors now too. As opposed to the human centric FPS where you know what's what cause it's earthly, or even Halo and Gears, because of the same. This takes some acclimating to, and that's even with being a fan.
I finally adjusted to it, but I wonder how others will fair that aren't as used to the characters involved. Makes me see what Bay's issues are with using the bots too on a mass scale audience.
Oh well, still love the game, minus that little hurdle.

God, I am really getting old.
Seriously, I watch this video and I can't tell what the hell I'm looking at. All I see is "MOVEMENT! METAL STUFF! EXPLOSION! SMOKE! EXPLOSION! SOME ROBOT! SMOKE! SOMETHING FLYING AROUND! METAL STUFF! SHOOTING! EXPLOSION!"
It's essentially abstract motion to me, with few recognizable visual elements on to which my eyes can focus.
I'm only 32, and I did play games growing up…. the old brightly-colored side-scrolling kind. I never quite made the leap to modern gaming, particularly first-person shooters. I distinctly remember the bewildered gaze of adults watching me play a game. Where I saw levels and goals and characters, they saw merely a dizzying, impenetrable kaleidoscope of color. And now… I am them.
It's somewhat depressing.

Someone please fix that video…

So 3 things I'm peeved about, in spite of all the awesomness I've encountered…I have to throw in my fanboy bitching.
Here it goes:
1. No shouldercannon blasting as a secondary weapon on Soundwave makes me
2. (I know this is a generic Sentry for Multiplayer purposes, but…) No Laserbeak minion for Soundwave to blast Autobots instead of a lame looking sentry gun makes me
3. Shockwave has a cool cannon on his left arm…WHY THE F*** CAN'T I USE IT! Makes me
Otherwise, this is one of the most enjoyable 3rd person shooters I've ever played. If it had the option to duck, it would rival Gears of War for me. I can't wait to see what a sequel to this game would be like if they come to Earth. I wonder what the story would be? (Obviously expecting something new that hasn't been done yet…I hope I hope!)

So, I'm posting in this topic because that's where the "discuss" button for the "accolades" video news story takes me.
the video is private. it cannot be viewed.
just thought you should know that you have a news story that no one can view.

I finally got my copy last night and started on the campaign straightaway. At first I was a bit underwhelmed after very high expectations. The environments impressed me straightaway, but the combat felt a unnatural to me. Having played Gears it felt strange not to be able to take stick to obstacles for cover.
As I play on I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more though. The level design is very varied, very good use of the alt modes. I had an initial gripe with the lack of sprinting in robot mode, until I realised that was to force you to transform. After you realise the only way to move fast is in alt mode, you'll find yourself constantly switching modes. Melee works great for me, adds variation to how you kill your enemies, and essential when you run out of ammo.

This game is like this years, Batman Arkham Asylum. Everyone thought AA was going suck because all the other Batman games were bad. It turned out to be one of the best games on 2009. Transformers: War For Cybertron did the same thing.
