Interesting news but I'm still totally Un-sold on this. The first game was so terrible (thankfully I did not buy it, just watched others trudge through the waste) that it would take an awful lot of improvements to turn me around on this game. I'll still keep an ear out once it's released out of TF fan curiosity but most licensed games suck and the first TF movie was no exception.

The DS version was ok enough for what it was but even the new version of that is going to be an easy pass for me this time around.

I'm surprised by how much better it sounds than first game. Maybe, just maybe, it might actually be good for movie game.

Thanks! I'm still deciding between PC or Wii versions. PC looks and seems much better overall, but I really hope the Wii version is just as good and actually the same storyline as the other versions unlike last game...

Is the Wii version simply a "graphically inferior/Wii controls tacked on" port of the 360/PS3/PC versions?

The idea of being able to hover in robot mode and the ability to pick which character you want has me sold. I have to admit, movie games do suck, but playing as Transformers is just so much damn fun!

After reading this I'm hooked. And I hope that it doesn't suck like the first on.. geez driving or flying is pain in the @$$.

6/23/09 is the pre-order ship date for all versions of the game.

On IGN, they had an interview for both games and they detailed described the levels in the PS3 version and it sounded EPIC but the Wii interview was scary. They were saying it would be near identical to the PS2 version (which could mean the death of online). What scared me the most:

- Railed, yes railed (set path to move on) missions with time limits
- Linear sounding gameplay
- ABout 2/3 racing/driving styled missions. That's alot to still be called a third person shooter :/ .
- Only 15 missions per side (there are way more than 15 decepticons)
- Limited cameos (Good bye Wheeljack! Mirage! Hound! Springer! Cliffjumper! *rambles on*)
- Possibly NO online gameplay which would SUCK if they didn't have it
- Crappy graphics.

I hated the first game. Graphics were standard, but the style of gameplay just sucked the fun out of the game. Guns were worthless, since everyone was shielded or tossing trees. Boss fights took a ridiculous amount of time (shoot 'con out of the air, then hit him with 20 trees, repeat). And the only point for Transforming was for the "get from point a to point b" timed missions, which weren't bad, but my dream Transformers game would basically be similar in style to the Dynasty Warriors, with massive onslaught of Decepticons, mindless shooting and fighting, with fists and guns, or just transform and run the opponent over! Throw in some slick racing sequences, and an uber online multiplayer mode where you can have up to 16 people playing (eight as 'bots, eight as 'cons) in a battle royal deathmatch, and it'd be an awesome game.

THAT would be worth $40. Anything else, is bargain bin at Bobby Bolivia's Used Videogames, Petting Zoo, & Car Lot.
