Revenge of the Fallen: The Mobile Game

Posted on 05-30-2009 at 04:43 AM by TM2 D-bot
Youtube user glumobilegames has uploaded a new video clip from Revenge of the Fallen: The Mobile Game. The game is a sidescroller, and just like the classic Convoy no Nazo, you can transform into your alt mode in each stage.

Transforming plays an integral part as it allows you to access parts of the level that your robot self cannot reach. Shown as playable characters are Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, while as villians we get to see generic Decepticon drones, Starscream and Devastator!

Apriorion:
That looks like some old-fashioned side-scrolling action, and I liked the Devastator end-boss looking stage. But who's making the iphone version?
Scourgatron:
I have the one from the first movie but cant even get past the last damn training mission.
Sideswipe80:
That looks good!
VaderPrime1:
Cool.
Toxicon:
That looks pretty good. The Devastator fight reminds me of the Onslaught battle in Marvel vs Capcom.
thygriever:
that looks great, i think the art is nice too. I might consider getting this. Although im disappointed prime doesn't bust out his knife when he punches.. boo
Sledgehammer:
Not bad at all, brings quite a few classic arcade titles to mind (Rolling Thunder and Midnight Resistance to name but two)...liking the Mercs-style Devastator battle as well.
LightningZERO:
Extermely boring game. Prime is weak, Bumblebee a bit useful with long range attack. And Power Up Optimus Prime is good for nothing

Any word on what devices this will be available for?

I recently finished the G1: Awakening strategy game, and am now jonesing for a new mobile-TF fix

TGCLightGuard:
I've still got the original (2007) Mobile game on my Razr, and if this is more of that style gameplay, you all can have it. I played for a while, but the difficulty level went up exponentially, and it wasn't very enjoyable.
tehCal:
I really liked the original, and I beat it (eventually - the 2nd Megatron boss fight took a lot of timing!). So I will certainly get the sequel!

I was never able to find a working download link for the G1 Awakenings game, which really annoyed me as it looked awesome. :/
destrongerlupus:
G1 Awakenings was simultaneously really limited and amazingly cool. Had it come out on a console (even SNES/Genesis, in some alternate reality) rather than a phone, it would have been perfection. The game design and concept was genius, and the mechanics worked really well. However the game was limited by the tiny graphics and the limited variety of characters etc.

Once you get through the 2-phases of directed-play and unlock the Arena mode (Which includes the Decepticons as playable characters and a nominal-2-player mode) it's a lot more fun, but it's also randomly-generated and without scenario/character-development, so it's also kind of hollow.

A mixed bag but a BOAT load of potential!

Psychrome86:
haha! long live the 2d side-scrollers!
Paxtin:
Looks neat for a mobile phone game, which are basically suppose to be simple straight forward time wasters.

Kinda reminds me of something you maybe would have seen on the Sega Game gear back in the day.
