Transformers-Rise-Of-The-Dark-Spark-Video-Game
The listing has since been removed, but Amazon has posted some details of a new video game based on the Transformers Franchise. The title of the game is "Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark" and was listed under XBox360, WiiU, Playstation 4 and Nintendo 3DS.

"Product Description
The next installment in the incredible Transformers gaming franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is an exciting action game that is perfect for veteran fans and newcomers. "

We currently do not know whether this is a Transformers: Age Of Extinction tie-in game, War For Cybertron 3 or a new game altogether.

Keep your eyes on TFW2005 for more info.

Oh man! I wish it was going to be about Rampage!

Nice find. Could this be a game based off the movie or is this a stand alone game? Also will it appear on any other platforms?
fallen_revenge
If only it was the third high moon studio game...
tbx76
Amazon has it listed as an xbox 1 game. GoNintendo said it was coming to WiiU and 3DS too. I imagine it'll hit everything.

hopefully they'll give out some more info soon. Just wondering since I don't post very often, does this count as a news credit?

I look forward to hearing more about it

Curious. I'm glad it's for PS3 as well otherwise I would not be impressed.

I think I'll keep an eye on it.
Soundwavedotm
If you think outside the box this is the release for age of extinction (released in all formats, dark spark linking to the story arc ;-p) I was given hints about the game and this looks like the one for a prequel story to AOE
Josh
Huh interesting

Dark Spark? I wonder who that could allude to....

Perhaps it refers to Unicron? If the Allspark is said to be the creator of all Cybertronian life, perhaps the Dark Spark is the destroyer?

Although not guaranteed it is likely to have some tie-in to the movie. The 'announcement' does seem appropriate given we're expecting a full trailer soon and a toy fair reveal.

n the beginning, in a dimension filled with life energy, called Zone Energy, there was only one Spark (or Lasercore), spawned from primal energies of that plane. The Original Spark (or Lasercore) had the ability to merge with any machine and become its central nervous system in order to give that machine life. Its offspring shared this ability. It divided into several smaller sparks, each possessing unimaginable power. Some of these sparks were violent and territorial, while others were peaceful and benevolent and shunned their brutal siblings. Many of the brutal sparks left the Zone Dimension, spread out across the universe, while the benevolent ones remained behind, growing in wisdom and knowledge.

The violent sparks devoured all life and destroyed all matter they encountered, growing stronger and stronger. When there was no matter left to devour they turned on each other. Most were destroyed or devoured by a powerful, dark spark. Some of the violent ones fled to other dimensions to escape the dark spark. Evetually all matter was destroyed and all life in the universe devoured, and all that was left was the dark spark. Finally contented, the dark spark slumbered.

As it slept, the cosmic fragments of destroyed matter reacted with each other and created a new universe. The many of the benevolent sparks left the Zone Dimension and nurtured the newborn life that was growing in the universe.

Eventually, the dark spark awoke, and without questioning how this new universe came to be, began destroying and devouring anew. Most of the benevolent sparks were destroyed or devoured by the dark spark.

The most powerful of the benevolent sparks was found by an alien named Primacron, who named it Primus. As the Spark developed, Primus proved to be very powerful. Primus developed the power to reproduce without diminishing his own essence, unlike his siblings which multiplied by dividing, splitting into perfect duplicates of the parent (but with only half the strength and power of the parent Spark [or Lasercore], and thus giving their offspring common memories. Primus' children were individuals with no memories prior to creation. He found favor in the Primacron's sight. Primacron made Primus his assistant. Primacron would build magnificent robots (he even designed a body for Primus to inhabit) and Primus would fill them with life. Primus' joy grew greater and greater as more of his offspring came to life.

Primacron & Primus had worked together for many years upon a special project: a small planetoid that would fuel itself off of space debris, called Unicron, that could also transform into a robot. As the project neared completion, the dark spark found them. Primus battled the dark spark, but the dark spark was too powerful. Primus tricked the dark spark into merging with the Unicron body, trapping the dark spark within it, but also forging a psychic link between the two.

Primacron, unaware of the dark spark's existence, sees Unicron transform of its own accord. Primacron tries to override his creation, but to no avail. Unicron turns it's full fury upon Primacron's lab. Primus' body was destroyed, as well as his children. Primus, seeking to draw Unicron away from Primacron, fled, and led Unicron on a chase across the Galaxy. Primus finally hid within a large metallic, too large for Unicron to ingest. Frustrated, Unicron drifted away, to devour more and grow larger.

But Primus was not alone. Inside the planet lived metallic monsters, who devoured the very metal of the planet, as well as any other creature that happened to fall within their grasp. They attacked Primus, but were no match for him. Primus, unwilling to destroy another living being, placed the creatures into a deep sleep and entombed them deep within the planet.

Primus, sensing the mental link that he and Unicron shared, went into a trance, in the hope that he would remain hidden from Unicron, perhaps even thought to be dead, until he was ready to face the dark spark again.

Dude if this is based off darkcybertron im going to lose it. .....

Its an anniversay year a multi generational game would make sense right now

Here's what going down. I plan on buying an Xbox One by April but, if a Transformers game is announced for it I will buy one ASAP. Fall of Cybertron already looked gorgeous.

Also, let's not get excited about which consoles the game will be released on yet, for now they could be placeholders. Until we get a press release I'm staying sceptical.

based on the title i really hope this falls in line with war/fall of cybertron games.

If its activision, probably not. I'm sure high moon would be the one to make the next game in that series.

Activision just publish the games, high moon could still be the ones working on it.

Hmmm half of me wants this to be an Age of Extinction game just because I want news of one happening. On the other hand, it would mean it's a prequel game which I strongly didn't want.

Unless its related to the events after Predacons Rising of TFP? - might be a prelude to the next TF Series

I think it's the next "Cybertron" game. All the movie games have just been titled "(movie): The Game. If this is the movie game then that's bad marketing since kids won't know it's the game for the movie. There's a game coming out for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (also published by Activision) and the name is simply the title for the movie - like all movie-based games.

Also, like I said in the game forum, the film is out in 4 months and unless we get a sudden explosion of news we're not getting a game. Tomorrow is Toy Fair so anything can happen, I guess.

If this is based off of IDW's Dark Cybertron my mind will be blown. The premise for a video game could work really well too.

Well that's pretty much what I thought, but I daren't utter the U word lol

High Moon could still be the developer...as was mentioned earlier, Activision is simply the publisher of Transformers games. The title seems silly to me, but if it was only a movie tie-in, I doubt it'd be billed as the "next in the franchise." That, to me, shouts that it is going to follow WfC and FoC...and goodness gracious I hope it does. After all, that'd mean more new toys!

Very very true!

I doubt it's a sequel to fall of cybertron. I remember seeing pictures of fall of cybertron a year before it was released. It's probably an age of extinction prequel. The reason it's been kept under wraps is they want the plot of AOE kept quiet. Not spoiled like DOTM was from the comic
Timothy.R
all i want is a continuation of the WFC/FOC series where they crash on earth and scan their G1 forms.. or updated IDW-ish forms.. it's been a long time coming.
primal789
I hope for a AOE game. But crap! It's not for PC!
Insane Galvatron
I'm still content with my PS3 and do not play enough games to justify the cost of "upgrading" to a PS4. That said, I really hope they release a PS3 version of this game. I love WFC and FOC and don't want to miss the next installment.
Prime Jetscream
Hope it's as good as War for Cybertron was.

Maybe it's an Age of Extinction prequel that they gave a different name.

Hmm... it DOES make sense as a sequel to FOC. "Dark Spark."
We all expect the third Cybertron game to be on Earth.
Maybe instead they run into Unicron. Most of the game could take place inside of him. Or on Junkion.

I'm pretty sure they keep releasing new games on last-gen consoles for at least a year after the new console is released.

Most interesting. Will probably be hearing more about it soon.

My hopes and gut tell me to listen to this,

It's been a long time, Lets hope they put the Thrilling in 30.

So i'm hoping for a mutli-dimensional game that focuses on the true rising of Unicron, G1, UT, Prime, RID, Alternators, Every single generation...

United as one,To Destroy one.
GR1ML0CK
the thought of this game being a follow up to foc gives me a raging hardon. i loved the g1 2.0 feeling i got from high moons games. having said that does anyone want to play foc? my gamertag on xbox is GR1ML0CK

If we get a new High Moon game reveal with a new AOE teaser trailer tomorrow....it will be the best day ever!!!!

Speaking of sparks rising forth, it would be interesting if this took place post-Prime in the aligned FOC/Prime Universe.

What a stupid name. Still excited for it, but what a dumb name.

There might be more going on here that we don't know.

Foreshadowing The End with The Beginning?

In any case...If this game does go off what i and Tonyformer said.

I'd love to have a post credits cut-scene of a kid playing with his Transformers... Something similar to the moral The Lego Movie gave.

Now that...would be amazing.

30 years, It was all fuelled by our Imagination.

What we love and play actually happens.

What they live and do we Play.

Sick of cybertron call of duty. Rather have a earth-based "the last of us" or "tomb raider" transformer game.

Also, a fun fighter/final fight type rock em robots game would be fun

Ooooor, also awesome, would be an episodic 120hr transformers RPG ala final fantasy xiii. A cinematic expanding story, covering the last days of cybertron, the battle on earth, Decepticons conquering cybertron, and the attack of unicron as the final battle... THAT would be epic and worth $59.99 each
Powerglide1991
I'm guessing this is the movie tie in, as it is being released for all platforms. High moon said a while ago they were making a game for the new generation, which I assume will be the sequel to FOC. Makes sense to release this game on all platforms as it will just use the FOC engine like DOTM used WFC, and to create a new engine for the next gen game.
