SAN FRANCISCO –December 10, 2014– DeNA and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) today announced TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS, a new turn-based tactical combat game based on the TRANSFORMERS universe, is currently in development for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Android devices. In TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS, players will collect iconic TRANSFORMERS characters, assembling teams of AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS characters, including fan favorites found within the pages of the IDW Combiner Wars series, to battle friends and fans from around the globe. Players and TRANSFORMERS fans can pre-register to receive updates about the game and unlock powerful in-game content for everyone at launch at the website: http://www.transformersbattletactics.com.
TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TATICS will be available as a free download and will feature more than 75 classic TRANSFORMERS characters including OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON, STARSCREAM, and BUMBLEBEE. Battles are swift and require strategic decision-making to propel players to victory. Each TRANSFORMERS character has unique stats and abilities, which shift as players convert them from robot to their alternate mode. The unique graphic style is inspired by the TRANSFORMERS Generations Combiner Wars characters and comic book series. TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS includes an expansive single-player campaign, story-driven in-game events and real-time player-vs-player (PvP) matches for players around the world to engage in strategic battles and rise to the top of the leaderboards.
“TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS blends fast action and strategic gameplay with a style TRANSFORMERS fans of all generations will appreciate,” said Barry Dorf, vice president of partnerships and alliances at DeNA. “From collecting new TRANSFORMERS to creating mash-up teams of AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS to battling against friends and fans around the world, players will have an epic amount of content to enjoy once the game ‘Rolls Out’ in 2015.”
TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS is the third title in an exclusive three-year agreement between DeNA and Hasbro to develop and publish mobile games based on the TRANSFORMERS franchise. Extending beyond the card-based battling in TRANSFORMERS: LEGENDS and the runner action of TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION games – The Official Mobile Game, TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS marks the first mobile turn-based strategy game set in the beloved TRANSFORMERS universe.
“The strategic combat and visual style of TRANSFORMERS: BATTLE TACTICS is a really fresh, fun and exciting take on the TRANSFORMERS brand,” said Mark Blecher, SVP Digital Gaming & Corporate Development at Hasbro, Inc.

I would totally play this game if I had one of those devices.

A lot of the 'designs' in that game are very recent. Even the CW Prime & Dragstrip.
Could be wishful thinking but Astrotrain and Runamuck?

I hope that Astrotrain is an upcoming voyager next year because I will buy that on site. I never had an Astrotrain toy so if this confirms it I will flip a table.
Sprocket
Yeah, kinda hoping they don't kill Legends and this sticks, even though they're both freemium and blech.
I do however appreciate them using Bumblebee's Reveal the Shield toy for his design. You'd think Hasbro would want something more movie. Or at least his recent Legend.

"Freemium games destroy lives. I just lost my father to Candy Crush."

The art looks really fun. If the animation is just as lively I might give it a go.
Seeing as how none of the character designs are original and it's G1 steam engine train instead of his classics bullet train… unless they're literally looking back to G1, you might not be wrong in your assessment.
edit: I'm 99% that's just G1 astrotrain. It's got all the details and the gun is a dead ringer.
Fort Max
Been thinking about that Astrotrain, anyone else remember when triple changer springer was listed on robot Kingdom, their info stated that it was a war for cybertron figure and that it would ship with an Astrotrain. Maybe the Astrotrain part wasn't a mistake but just a change of plan?

Until you do have kids, you probably won't realize how wildly unrealistic that is. Unless you live in (or move to) Amish country.
The reality is that they will be using the internet. Your choice is whether you are aware of it or if they do it without your knowledge.
Starscream Gaga
I don't think there's many kids that don't do all that as well as play video games and use the Internet… Heck, you'd probably be denying them chances to educate and develop skills rather then supplying them with more.
SpinalCord
Oh, it so is… with older kids playing mobile games now instead of playing with toys, Hasbro is definitely trying to stay current. Can't blame them, but it's really stupid… when I have kids, they wont even be using the Internet until Freshman year (of HS). Until then, they're going to be fucking kids and play outside, have toys, watch TV, play at their friends houses, have sleepovers, and go to kid parties. This app/video game garbage is such brain-rotting bullshit

Apparently Transformers: Rising is back.
SouthtownKid
Looks great if I didn't know Mobage/DeNA was behind it.
But since it is them, I won't touch this game with a ten foot pole.
bumblebeej8
Yay! IDW Spotlight Bumblebee is in it!
SelectedLime375
This game seems to scream To Sell Toys. I will definitely be playing it, though. I am also wondering when Transformers: Rising is going to come out.
SpinalCord
None, not since the new CEO came in and Aaron was canned.
Rob
I guess never really play long enough to pay or I am just cheap because the only FTP game I ever gave money to was Star Trek Online.
MechaV
The only thing I'd like out of this is for someone to rip the character art.
Autovolt 127
The only thing I think that's cool about this is that they are all based on their Generations designs.
GreednGluttony
not interested in playing, though i like how they use new toy designs, by the way, who else is sick of g1?
